Both former Colorado Governor Hickenlooper and current Governor Polis both have worked to move Colorado towards the California standards concerning low emission and zero emission vehicles. This impacts available options for buyers, as well as the cost of vehicles. By model year 2025 10% the inventory of Colorado automobile dealers must be low and zero emission vehicles. Not meeting this standard will result in the dealer being fined.
