Send us Fan MailThe Fruit of the Spirit is a single cluster of fruit, like a cluster of grapes with distinct, individual grapes making up that cluster. That means that the Holy Spirit is working this entire cluster in me, not just one or two of those listed. One of those individual distinctives is longsuffering. God treats us with longsuffering, and He expects His people to treat others with longsuffering. The character quality of Longsuffering means that you have a long fuse rather than a short fuse. Rather than blowing up in anger when you are provoked, you are able to show self-restraint. We see that in how God treats us, and we are to treat others that way, too. The only way is supernatural – for the Holy Spirit to produce that quality in you.
