À la fin du mois de juin 2005, des dizaines de milliers de fêtards convergent vers la petite commune de Carnoët, dans les Côtes-d’Armor, où un festival de musique techno se tient durant cinq jours sur un terrain gigantesque. Les baffles crachent du son jour et nuit, l’alcool coule à flot, et beaucoup de drogue circule parmi les festivaliers.Le matin du dimanche 26 juin, le corps de Mathilde Croguennec, une jeune bretonne de 18 ans, est découvert sur les lieux du teknival, dans une sapinière. Elle a été poignardée une trentaine de fois.
