The Fruit of the Spirit is a single cluster of fruit, like a cluster of grapes with distinct, individual grapes making up that cluster. That means that the Holy Spirit is working this entire cluster in me, not just one or two of those listed. One of those individual distinctives is goodness. I have no goodness of my own, but His goodness works in me and through me. We know that we are not saved by good works, but according to Ephesians 2:10, we are saved “unto good works,” or that we might accomplish good works through His empowerment. The Bible says that Jesus “went about doing good.” His followers should do the same.
