2-32 David Centofanti

from Disorganized Religion · host Seth Lawrence

Hey nerds. This episode features the extremely kind and fun comedian David Centofanti. He and I met at a little place called Sal's Comedy Hole on Melrose in Hollywood. The venue used to host open mics and shows all independently produced by comedians trying to give each other a fun space where we could all work out material. David used to work as a nurse. We talk about his beginnings in the medical field and what led him to pursue comedy. He also discusses some of his early experiences performing on stage. David discloses his first real bomb, which is quite the story -- I'll just say that had I lived what David did, I don't think I would have soldiered on. We also discuss David's religious upbringing. He talks about his spiritual evolution from Catholicism to a personal belief, hope even. If there is one thing we need right now in 2020, it's hope. I'm not sure I succeeded in convincing David that I am completely right on religion...but he and I find some common ground. What I admire about David is his ability to look for the good in just about every situation we discussed. I sincerely hope you enjoy this one. I did. Find David on Instagram at @d_centofanti
