2 Chronicles 3: Temple Construction Begins |(October 19, 2025)
from Reading the Bible Daily · host Dave Jenkins
Solomon begins building the temple of the Lord on Mount Moriah—the very place where Abraham offered Isaac. This chapter reveals the holiness, glory, and majesty of God through the beauty and craftsmanship of His dwelling place. Every detail—the gold overlay, the cherubim, the veil, and the pillars named Jachin ("He establishes") and Boaz ("In Him is strength")—points us to God's faithfulness and strength. Ultimately, the temple foreshadows Christ, the true temple where God dwells with His people. Through His death, Jesus tore the veil and opened the way into God's presence. In Him, believers are established, strengthened, and given full access to the Father. 💡 Key Themes: • God's presence dwells among His people. • Worship requires reverence and holiness. • The temple reflects God's glory and majesty. • Christ fulfills what the temple symbolized—access to God by His grace. 📖 Key Verse: "He erected the pillars in front of the temple, one on the south, the other on the north; that on the south he called Jachin, and that on the north Boaz." — 2 Chronicles 3:17 🌐 For more devotionals and resources, visit: 👉 https://servantsofgrace.org/reading-the-bible-daily-with-dave/
