2 John

2 John is a letter from the apostle John. He refers to himself as "the elder". It is written to a "chosen lady and her children." This is eithe a Christian mother or Christian community with children. The letter emphasizes the importance of loving one another and following the teachings of Jesus Christ, while cautioning against false teachings and false teachers who do not acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God. One major instruction of this book is to be sure Children are protected from false teaching so that they may walk in the truth. The John closes by expressing his hope to visit the community soon.
