In the classroom today, we've got a very special guest. This person was the second person I met in college who instantly became one of my best friends. As she introduced herself and told me the country she came from, I swear that was the first time in my life I'd ever heard of Ecuador. She is someone who displayed an enormous amount of determination with her big aspirations to come to the U.S. to study biochemistry. Since graduating, she has remained in South Dakota, where she is currently working in a histology lab.
