We'd love to hear from you!#2 of 13 Characteristics of Influence & Greatness - Not Easily OffendedNotice the distinct difference of energy in the room and think about when you have witnessed this scene before: · At the airport when a traveler harshly disputes his disagreement with the ticket counter attendee, affecting everyone around you, including staff, those in line and others observing. · A time your spouse offended you by a remark they made. A remark that you stewed on for an entire day, affecting you at work, as you seemed short and impatient with co-workers. Then you returned home still carrying that vile and negative mindset and affected everyone in your household. No matter what we accomplish in our lives or our nominations, all of it is of no value if we allow offense to creep in and steal it away. When reflecting on events of offense that occurred in your life, whether you were offended or the offender, remember how much you can influence others and affect our world for good or for evil. Offense is not appealing to any one for any reason, even when the offense may be justified. Offenses are common and we all have to deal with them every day. Some offenses are from long past events and others are very fresh in our minds. If you desire to be influential and to have “magnetism”, you must determine that when offense comes, you will choose to react in a way that makes others stand in amazement at your resilience and emotional intelligence. This does not mean that we will not need time to process hurts or scream into a pillow on occasion. It just means that those who are influential do not allow offenses to consume and control them.Ask yourself this question: “Do I know anyone is constantly offended yet well thought of and highly successful?” Chances are, your answer is no.
