2 Options, 2 Men, 2 Resurrections

Sermon Text: 1 Corinthians 15:20-22 Sermon Outline: 1.) Eternal Hope: Death and Resurrection (1 Cor 15:20) 2.) Federal Headship: Adam and Christ (1 Cor 15:21-22) See chapter 6 of the 1689 London Baptist Confession 1) The resurrection rooted Gospel faith in historical facts. 2) The resurrection validated that Jesus is who He claimed to be: truly God and truly man. 3) The resurrection displayed the sovereign authority of Jesus and the supremacy of the Godhead. 4) The resurrection demonstrated that Jesus finished what He came to do: defeat death, sin, and Satan. 5) The resurrection confirmed God’s acceptance of Jesus’ sacrifice for the sins of His people. 6) The resurrection proclaimed the exclusivity of the gospel, that there is eternal life in none other. 7) The resurrection prepared for those who trust in Christ to be raised to life as Christ Himself.
