2 Peter 2 - Jesus is the Better Teacher

This week, Peter reminds his disciples that truly divine teaching is epitomized in the life and example of Jesus. The apostle warns the Church that there will always be false teachers of the Word, who only care about profiting off of it. The contradictions of their self-serving heresies juxtaposed with Jesus’s self-sacrificial ministry show us just how dead wrong these false prophets are about God’s grace and mercy. Peter witnessed firsthand the radically upside-down nature of the Kingdom of God, when the King of Kings and Lord of Lords knelt down to wash a lowly fisherman’s feet, the night before the Messiah would give His life as a ransom for the World.
