Holy Spirit Evangelism with Real People

At CityLife, we are always shaping the culture of our church. Our goal is not simply to gather people on Sundays, but to form disciples who learn to see every part of life through the lens of following Jesus. One of the most important parts of that culture is outreach. We believe that if we are not becoming more mission minded, caring deeply for the people in our lives and the city around us, then we are not being formed into the kind of people Jesus calls us to be.That is why every time our calendar gives us a fifth Sunday, we dedicate it to a Missional Sunday, a chance to refocus our hearts on God's mission and our role in it.In this sermon, we explore Acts 8:26 to 40, where the Holy Spirit orchestrates a divine encounter between Philip and an Ethiopian official. Through this powerful story, we discover what it looks like to be led by the Spirit, attentive to God's direction, and ready to share the hope of Jesus with others.Join us as we learn how God still creates divine appointments today, and how we can be ready when He does.

    A Reflection of Grace

The beginning of Ephesians 2, Paul continues the building important pillars of a believer’s faith. He contrasts what he shared about God’s character and reason for choosing us and adopting us as sons and daughters through Christ with the reality of our human condition without Him. Paul drives the reader to come to terms with what our life was like before salvation, which adds gravity to the saving grace of the Father.

    The End of His Mockery

Today we conclude a three part sermon series on the mockery that Jesus both endured at the cross and continues to take on today. In Luke 24, Jesus walks with two disciples on the road to Emmaus and shows them from “Moses and all the Prophets” that the Christ would save through suffering. In week one, we explored how the Old Testament foretold the mockery Jesus would face. Last week, we saw how the Resurrection became His vindication, yet the world still mocks Him today. This week we turn to His return, when that mockery will end forever.Join us as we walk through 2 Peter 3:8 to 15a and consider both the patience of God in this present moment and the coming day when our King will be fully revealed and never mocked again.

  11. 291

The Central Claim Of The Resurrection

Christ is risen! The resurrection of Jesus isn’t just important—it’s everything. In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul says if Christ hasn’t been raised, our faith is empty. But He has been raised & our hope is real, sin is defeated, and death doesn’t have the final word. The message the apostles proclaimed is simple and powerful: the King is alive. This Easter, come and consider what that means for you. Because if Jesus rose from the dead, it changes everything.

  12. 290

The Mockery of Jesus- Palm Sunday

What if the cross wasn’t a surprise but a promise? In this message, we explore Psalm 22 and see how it prophetically reveals a suffering Savior centuries before Jesus was born. From the cry, “My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?” to the scenes of mockery, piercing, and public shame, this psalm shows that the cross was never accidental—Jesus wasn’t caught in tragedy; He was fulfilling a divine plan.Yet Psalm 22 doesn’t end in suffering it moves toward victory. What begins in anguish rises into global worship, declaring that through His suffering, salvation would reach the nations. This message invites you to see the cross not just as a moment of pain, but as the promised path of redemption from the very beginning.

    Opening & Closing Door Decision-Making

Following Jesus means allowing the Spirit to shape every part of our lives, including how we think. In 2026, we’re exploring a sermon series called The Mind of the Believer, where we examine everyday thoughts and ask whether they align with the heart and knowledge of God. Because real maturity often begins in the mind. All people live out what they think. This week, we take a closer look at how we make decisions through a familiar phrase: “If this isn’t what God wants for me, I need Him to close this door.”Is that how God actually leads us?Join us as we examine this idea and grow in a deeper, more faithful approach to decision-making.Passage: John 15:1–11

  14. 288

    A Satisfied Soul

Where is your joy rooted? As we grow in Christ, we’re called to be truly satisfied and content, but that often takes more than good intentions. Join us as we examine lasting joy, deeper maturity, and a faith that transforms everyday life. Join us so that we can walk this journey together.

  15. 287

    The Mind of a Disciple

  17. 285

    And They Found It Written

This week we continue our journey through Nehemiah, picking up right where we left off. As the people hunger for God’s Word, they discover the Festival of Booths and step into renewed obedience and worship.Big Idea: Hunger for God leads us to His Word, and His Word leads us into His ways.Join us as we read Nehemiah 8:13–18 and unpack how a growing hunger for Scripture shapes our lives and draws us deeper into God’s purposes.

    A Hungry People

What happens when God’s people rediscover a hunger for Him?In Nehemiah 8, a weary and rebuilding people gather simply to hear God’s Word. As Ezra reads, they begin to weep — not out of shame, but awakening. They realize who God is, who they are, and what their hearts have been missing. This message explores the difference between religious activity and real pursuit, and invites us to ask an honest question: What do our hearts truly hunger for? Because when God awakens holy hunger, He restores joy, renews strength, and draws His people back to Himself. If your faith has felt dry, distant, or routine, this message is an invitation to rediscover the beauty of hungering for God.
