2 Peter Chapters 1-3

In this episode, we read Second Epistle of Peter chapters 1 through 3, where Saint Peter encourages believers to continue growing in faith while warning against false teachers and deception. Chapter 1 emphasizes spiritual growth, urging believers to add qualities such as faith, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, and love to their lives. Peter reminds them of the truth of the gospel and the certainty of God’s word. Chapter 2 contains strong warnings about false teachers who distort truth and lead others astray for selfish gain. Peter reassures believers that God will ultimately judge evil and protect the faithful. In chapter 3, Peter addresses questions about the return of Jesus Christ, explaining that God is patient and desires people to come to repentance. Believers are encouraged to live holy and godly lives as they wait for Christ’s return. 2 Peter 1–3 reminds us to remain grounded in truth, continue growing spiritually, and live faithfully while trusting in God’s promises and timing.
