He told his men to leave Shimei alone, because perhaps God would see his affliction and turn the curse into a blessing. That is an extraordinary statement from a man living through one of the worst days of his life.David was not being passive. He was not pretending the pain did not hurt. He was choosing to believe that God was still sovereign over his suffering, and that even the worst moments could be redeemed.That kind of faith does not come easy. It demands that you loosen your grip on the outcome and trust that God is working in ways you cannot yet see. Romans 8:28 is not a promise that everything will feel good. It is a promise that God is working all things together for good for those who love Him. That includes the painful things, the unfair things, and the things that feel like pure loss.You may be in a season right now that feels more like a curse than a blessing. Do not give up.
