2. The Parables of Jesus - Expensively Free

I love watching movies and shows about looking for treasure. The “inner-pirate” in me loves the adventure, passion, and pursuit. People will give everything they have chasing after gold that may or may not exist, but I want you to image that you have found a treasure you weren’t expecting. Something far greater than gold. Something so valuable it causes everything else in life to pale in comparison. What would you give to gain that treasure? Our values can often be found in our bank statements, because we spend on what we care about. Our culture thrives on having what we want, taking what we want, or longing for what we want. This is not the way of a Christ follower! We are to live differently because we are citizens of a Kingdom that is more valuable than anything this world has to offer.
