2 Timothy

from The Gospel of Christ-TGOC · host The Gospel of Christ

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work,” 2 Timothy 3:16-17.Welcome to our study of the Book of 2 Timothy. In our messages of the New Testament, living messages of the New Testament, we've been taking a look at each book, getting some of the key ideas, and then along the way making practical applications from these great texts of inspiration.I believe 2 Timothy 2:1 is the main theme in this book. Paul says, “You therefore my son be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” Paul is writing to Timothy, whom we know according to 2 Timothy 1:7, may have been a little timid and fearful. Paul says ‘God has not given us a spirit of timidity or of fear but of love and of power, and of a sound mind.’ Timothy may have been a little fearful, a little shy, may have been a little more introverted. Paul says, ‘Don't be afraid. Don't be timid. You've got God, and you've got the Gospel on your side. Be strong in God's grace.’ It's that grace that makes salvation available that we're able to be strong in. You know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, ‘Though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor that we through His poverty might be made rich.’(The full transcript is available in the "Download Document" button above.)
