We waited all winter for this. Every time we got swaddled up to stumble down the frigid city streets, we said "baseball will come back, baseball will come back, at least one day baseball will come back." And somewhere, a monkey's paw curled...This week on Hits Different, two fans of the orange and blue New York team talk about a three-game losing streak (which would become four shortly after taping) and exchange groans and bone-deep shudders. The only way things could possibly get worse is if time proceeds in a forward motion and the Mets fly down to Atlanta next week for a four-game series. The first game is the day of an eclipse. Will the Mets look at it? We wouldn't be surprised. Nothing can surprise us now!
