20 Best Travel Accessories in 2023 & Beyond

from Travel Better with Chris - Yellow Productions Podcast

These 20 things will help you travel smarter, better, and more comfortably. As a professional traveler I've bought and tested tons of travel accessories. From daybags to travel electronics and more, these are my favorites that have earned a regular spot in my luggage. 1 - Airtags or tile for your suitcase   In the era of lost, delayed, and missing luggage: Tossing a tracker in your bag will help the airline find your bag. 2 - Noise canceling Headphones. Ever struggled to understand what people are saying in movies on the plane? Those free headphones are lousy.    I really like the Bose QC25 for inflight entertainment. Over the ears.  Soft.  Doesn't sound like I'm on the plane.  AAA batteries are nice.  Newest one recharges on USB.    Airpods Pro for shorter flights when I'm bringing a tablet.  Super comfy and small.  But since no cable they don't connect to IFE. And they aren't super loud.    Great to help get to sleep on a noisy plane.   Looking forward to the Airpods Max 2. 3 - Quad USB charger    Ever struggled trying to charge all your devices in a hotel?  Either because there aren't enough plugs or you don't want to carry a gazillion wall warts?  Get a quad USB charger.   Make sure you've got good cables. Not all are made the same.  Appe cables are expensive.. but they just work.   USB light for a night light.  IKEA sells these for a couple bucks.    4 - Eye mask   Ever tried to sleep when someone around you has the window shade wide open?  Get one that's not too tight. 5 - 4 Wheel Luggage 6 - Luggage Scale   This Amazon Basics is $12. 7 - Packing Cubes, Shoe Bags. Eagle Creek or Ebags 8 - Bamboo shirts   Ever felt really stinky after a long flight?  Get a bamboo shirt and be stinky no more!  I really like the polos from Cariloha.  Black shirts are the best for plane rides as they don't reflect as much on the IFE screen. 9 - Wool socks    Are you prone to blisters or smelly feet?  You'll get neither with some good wool socks. 10 - Cargo pants   Ever find you don't have enough places to put your phone, boarding pass, passport, train tickets, mask, whatever while you're traveling?  Get a good pair of cargo pants.  I like the Wranglers from target.  Make shorts too. But consider some zip off ones too. For shorts I also like the O'Neill traveler series, every pocket zips.  And for board shorts I like the O'Neill superfreak with the velcro closure.  11 - Cargo Shirt   Need even more pockets?  Consider a Cargo shirt.  I really like these from Exofficio.  Lightweight, but will also keep the wind off you on a plane.  For really cold plane trips I like my Mountain Hardwear Fleece.  12 - Good day bag  Ocgirl and I really like these bags from Pacsafe.  I've got the sling bags, she has the backpack. 13 - Good shoes  My favorites are the Hoka Bondi sneakers.  Men's and women's.  Regular, 2E, 4E.  Super plush.  I can walk for miles in these things.  If you're going to a wet spot you can get them in leather.  They've also got some other models in Gore Tex  14 - Entertainment Device  I really like the iPad mini.  Just the right size, and the batteries last forever.  Works well on flights that have a tablet holder.  Fits well in the seatback pocket.  Can't say the same about the full size ipads. 15 - Kid entertainment device  The Amazon fire tablet is amazing.   Rubberized, and comes with a subscription for the 1st year to all the apps you can download.  Great for road trips too. 16 - Good Umbrella   The ones from Brookstone are my favorite.  17 - Passport Wallet   As someone who has had their daybag stolen before. I like to keep my passport in my front pocket in my wallet.  Hardest thing to thieves except for if it was in an inside hidden pocket.   18 - Coin Purse If you're going some place that uses alot of coins like Japan.  Ziplock baggie works in a pinch. 19 - USB Battery Bank I like the ones from Anker 20 - Sunglasses Oakley half jacket Replaceable lenses.  They never break, the lenses just pop put. ✔️ You might enjoy watching my video about How to AVOID JET LAG Like a Pro Traveler here: https://youtu.be/0a45-mQDpgc 😀 WHEN'S THE NEXT LIVE STREAM?
