#20 - DJ Gatica

Episode 20 of The House Aftermath is a big one. I sat down with Gatica — DJ, radio show host, and all-around energy shifter — for a real, unfiltered conversation about music, creativity, relationships, and building something meaningful from the ground up. Born in Queens and raised on salsa, Latin jazz, blues, and New York nightlife, Gatica was surrounded by music before she could even speak. From sneaking vinyl records in her backpack to now rocking clubs, radio, and live events, she’s someone who truly lives for the craft. Whether she’s DJing or hosting, she knows how to read the room, set the tone, and create moments that actually stick. We talked about her journey as a female DJ, the importance of community, and how she blends global sounds, deep-house grooves, classic hits, and high-energy drops into unforgettable experiences. Fluent in English y Español, she breaks barriers through music and connection — not just hype. Beyond the music, we went off into other lanes too — relationships, personal growth, and what she’s planning for the new year. One of the most valuable parts of this episode was the advice she gave me about growing my own podcast and channel. As someone still learning the ropes and building a smaller platform, it was refreshing to hear honest insight from someone who understands the grind and believes in collaboration over competition. This episode is about elevation — sharing knowledge, supporting each other’s work, and creating something real together. If you’re into music, podcasting, culture, or just raw conversations with good energy, this one’s for you. Check out Gatica and her work here: 🌐 https://www.gatica.nyc
