20 - Hunger and Thirst

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. When I was young in my faith, this was the first verse I experienced God speaking right to me. Hunger and thirst explained what I didn’t have words for, and Jesus said I would be blessed for it.   I held tight to this hope.  All these years later, I am still learning the signals when my hunger and thirst are misguided. It’s something like the way I would pant after running up ten flights of stairs.
