20: Innovation Exchange - Is technology the key to managing long term conditions?

Since Covid-19 hit the UK in early 2020, health and care services have digitised at a dramatic pace. When the crisis is over, a number of questions will need to be answered: for example, was the technology deployed in the most effective way; were downsides addressed; what further changes are needed to achieve full benefits; and how do providers protect the interests of particular groups?  In this podcast, Dr Hasan Chowhan interviews Ben Collins, Project Director at The King’s Fund, to discuss these questions and his research findings published in a recent report: ‘Technology and innovation for long-term health conditions.’ The paper considers four innovation examples from the United Kingdom (UK) and the Nordic countries that use digital technology to support more ambitious transformations of care.
