20 Questions with Mr Worldwide & Ultra Marathoner, Guy Cheney

from No Outlet · host Ethan Jule

Folks you are all invited to an adventure! An international time machine of sorts that will take us to several countries and continents spanning over 40 years! My guest tonight is someone who I went to school with a million years ago who lives a very rich and interesting life. Guy Cheney is on the podcast tonight (LIVE IN STUDIO) and we had a great time catching up, reviewing all of his exploits over the past few decades and learned a lot and along the way. We talked about growing up in Rye NH, free range parenting (we need more of it), moving to Japan in 7th grade, his time in the Midwest, how he once saw an airplane stuck in mid-air, living in Mexico City, teaching English in both the US and Mexico, his transition from hating to run to finishing multiple Ultra Marathons, his favorite brand of sneaker to run 100 miles in, losing the dream of Wordle, advice to American owned restaurants trying to offer Mexican food, his experience with UFOs, his punishment for blowing a gym whistle with his nose, controlling the Chinch bugs, we discuss the greatness of Nadal, the potential annoyance of Nick Kyrgios, wasting time in first grade listening to Bill Cosby (and the Beatles), the extreme difficulty in getting a good cup on coffee after 3pm in NH, the book he is reading now, we establish if Andy Olsen saved the most important penalty kick of all time and we even phone a friend to confirm the name of a 50 mile race among discussing many other fun and random topics. He was a good dude 40 years ago and he's a good dude now! I hope you all enjoy the conversation as much as we did! #ultramarathon, #mexicocity, #Dungeonsanddragons, #borntorun, #mattcarpenter, #lavidacantina, #Garrisoncity, #oakhouse, #mrworldwide, #chinchbugs #Hoka, #Ryenh, #Japan, #horseshoecafe, #newmarket, #honda50, #Deciduousbrewing, #UFO, #borisbecker, #Kyrgios, #nadal

They were young, dumb, and full of it. What followed were comedy shows so explicit, “genitalia” was practically a term of endearment.Fast forward 5 dogs, 6 cats, and way too many weird inside jokes later, Sasha and Joe are no longer young or dumb—but they’re still brimming with you-know-what. Here, they’ve teamed up to bring you a podcast where they interview a guest who passionately defends something universally hated, misunderstood, forgotten, overlooked, Mandela-effected, canceled—you name it. The key? They LOVE it. From toupees... to B-movies... to aliens, psychedelics, and the occasional surprise character, Sasha and Joe are here to spread love to the world that birthed them (but maybe should’ve used protection). So come and get that love because no one else will give it to you like we do.Also, don’t forget to check out the Patreon Bonus version of the show:https://www.patreon.com/c/ShutUpILoveItP Explicit
