20 Questions with Sailor Erin! She sailed to Bermuda and back guys!
from No Outlet · host Ethan Jule
It’s another first for the No Outlet Podcast! The first Captain is joining the podcast tonight! The ocean is something that I have been equally in awe of and terrified of at the same time. Maybe a better way to put it is that I appreciate and have the utmost respect for the Power of the Ocean. If it has a point to make...it never loses and when I think about having the skill (and bravery) to navigate through that power and danger of the Atlantic Ocean (or any ocean) on a sailboat I realize that I have identified something I am probably not up for. Tonight Sailor Erin Kehew joins the show and not only done that, but she is a true expert. In fact, she recently was a “Shift Captain” for a trip from Newport RI ALLLLLL the way to Bermuda.....and back again! We talk about how long it takes to get to Bermuda via sailboat (longer than I thought!), How many people in a crew, food on board, work shifts, examples of how no one parties like Sailors, time travel vs. Aliens among us, the fact that she has not seen a mermaid but has seen a UFO (in my opinion), the humbling size of a great white shark, her Mount Rushmore of Sailing trips, her favorite port to sail into, journeys that are too much ever for her, the importance of keeping your mouth shut (applies to many situations), the best sailing gear, we determine if sailors are snobs, we discuss the splendor that is the America's cup, growing up sailing in Newport, sailing in the pitch dark (no thank you) and the cut of your jib among many other nautical topics! Thank you for coming on the show and we hope you enjoyed the conversation as much as we did! #newportRI, #Bermuda, #Hellyhansen, #Gill, #stinkpot, #darkandstormy, #rum, #mermaids, #seamonsters, #UFO, #aquietboatisagoodboat, #captain, #shiftcaptain, #crewmember, #carribbean, #trust, #telepathy, #atlanticocean, #whataboutbob, #ISAIL, #imasailor
