20. Shadows in Zamboula

Awakened by a stealthy step as he sleeps in a cheap flophouse, Conan catches a cannibal about to kill him for the pot; the innkeeper has let them into his room. After slaying the attacker, Conan goes out to find the treacherous innkeeper; instead, he finds a beautiful Zamboulan dancer who begs him to help her restore the sanity of her lover, who has been cursed by the priest of an evil gorilla-god.
