That's the video ends No, and he runs into his friend's room saying I just had a dream and I can't go because I thought it was in a simulation And that was it.
It was like a bunch of babies. What? Most of that I was like yeah sure that's like some shit you would see where it's like what if we lived in the matrix? I don't know what we did What would you do if you live in a zombie apocalypse you woke up in there's all we've already told you both you and Jack are the reason I would die that's not what I'm always also if I woke up in a zombie apocalypse.
I there's no reason to keep living like just die It's done. There's no reason to be living if we're just gonna die one day you might just go yourself Okay, but we're not currently living in like something so being world well that I would act some of that. We're not currently living in like a zombie situation speaking of in the first game There are zombies in uncharted. Yeah, no, it's no part of the reason So we'll get into like what we thought of this But I thought they were gonna introduce a supernatural element into this because part of the game's right yes So I didn't grow up with these necessarily so much as I played them in high school or friend introduce them I mean, I feel like he would like these is a friend Colton and I like Wilton He was like hey if you he let me one through three and I played them all within like a week and because they were a lot of fun They were basically the concept is Nathan Drake is 100% absolutely Indiana Jones like all the way they reference it a lot in this movie too and Basically the concept is what if the Indiana Jones games or I'm sorry What the Indiana Jones movies were playable games that's kind of what the concept is like a hundred percent But Nathan Drake I really like I think he's distinguishable enough as a character on his own same goes for Victor Sullivan or solely and I do not remember her name, but she's like a blonde.
Hey, I knew is a promoter Yeah, it's like in print this time. That's a bollmer. Yeah. Oh I don't do that you wash your hands Because there's a certain somebody There's a certain person that we know that I got a huge argument that whenever you pee when you're done you wash your hands, right?
Yes, that's like no brainer. Yes, however A certain person not to name names said that the penis is the cleanest part of the body And there's no reason to wash your hands while you look after you pee and I was like No, you were never cooking or making anything for any of us ever again. I have only played one through three. I've not played four and four is more about like I it's him older so I like there's no reason to adapt that one yet and Genuinely I hope this as well because I quite liked it, but well moving further It occurred to me. I was like oh I played these I get the references and I was like something like sonic Like movies like that I get it to the extent that sonic's popular enough that if they reference something like the rings like I played a couple of them But never like front to back. Mm-hmm.
Also, he's kind of like a nothing character to me Like what does he do he wow? Oh, what's Nathan Drake? Just another version of Indiana Jones another guy I feel like Jack Sparrow. They say that too There's a love interest that's not in these yet, but it's just the first one This isn't based on any of the plots of the games so much as it is kind of an origin story Like I texted you no I called you and we were talking about this movie And because you saw it the night before I did nyostere I was like can I guess what the end credit scene of this movie is and because like part of the whole thing is that Victor Sullivan or Has a mustache and he loves cigars and I was like oh my god The entire point of this mid credit scene is that he has a mustache and he finds a cigar and he's like wow This is a good cigar.
Yeah, he says that yeah crazy. He's with the games guys. Not the fourth one I still want to I only I just haven't played it yet But I'm what did you what are your thoughts on video game movies like are there any particular that you really like I think it's you Okay, I'm thinking about is that like your number one now? I'll say so for now so I'm kind of judging on the curve of video game movies They even the good ones I tend to really like because I'm like the fact that it's good at all in accomplishment like I Didn't see last year's Resident Evil.
It was very bad. I didn't The mia Jovitch ones I saw one of those in the one I saw was like a carbon copy of Fury Road or like try to be I don't think I've seen so many of like Resident Evil movies But like now it feels like just one big one so now it's like any scene that I watch I don't know if it's like third or the second or fourth of the first type of thing they blend and I know that that franchise has its fans I heard of the first one's like a legitimately decent movie. Yeah, my favorite video game movie One hundred percent. I actually think it's like a great movie is detective Pikachu.
I kind of love it to be honest with you We talked about that I don't think that's I don't care Not Resident Evil and then I thought people you said oh yeah, they had those like their fans for those movies Yeah, I'm like well I'm a fan of it I wonder what you're a fan of underworld like the coolest franchise I've ever seen in my life. Yeah Dark and Greek. Oh, yeah, no the whole color palette argument is silly Um, what'd you think of this? I went to yeah, I liked it.
I think at best. It's okay. Really? Yeah But other than that though, I just didn't really feel much from it I really like Tom Holland and Mark Wauber's that I make a lot yeah, but other than everything else in the movie just felt like bland Okay, no, so maybe it's because of my like biotorets having played the like it occurred to me like during it that I was like oh I'm a fan of these and we talked once on here about how people get really nostalgic for like mid-2000s superhero movies and like shit like venom makes them happy that They're like doing movies like that again for me.
It would happen venom You know how like no, no, you know how like people are like I like this new venom movie This new franchise because it feels like the early 2000s like daredevil it feels like oh, okay you know, this is also directed by Rupin Fleischer, which is kind of funny uh and What I get nostalgic for are the national treasure movies and the first three specifically prior to the Caribbean movies and like the whole kind of adventure sort of Go to this country go to this country. Yeah, like the Philippines the uh, I remember the Philippines Barcelona And I thought it was a whole lot of fun. Does it do a single thing and new? Not really no.
I thought the third act was kind of amazing Tom Holland and Mark Wauber on the same screen. That is new yeah Very new uh speaking of Tom Holland is I could already say this outside I remember like this sort of solidifies it. I will Watch anything that he's in I think like he's definitely one of my favorite actors and I thought he differentiated this character enough from Peter Parker that I didn't really think of him as that We were only kind of issue. I think it runs into his this character supposed to be like mid 20s Like he still looks like he looks older than he did Like he still looks like a kid.
Yeah, yeah And I think it's just it is voice but like you can't really do you can't do much with that. I mean You can also there's always like you can just deepen someone's voice. Yeah I feel like that's a hassle. Yeah, and then it was people would probably start to catch that like you know how this is a weird example Like drag while evolution But no, I'm saying because it's like the first thing I can think of there's a lot of ADR of a bunch of people's voices in that and you can just tell uh But I really liked their chemistry mark wallberg and tom holland with each other It's part of the kind of selling point of this Is well, so they're like supposed to be best friends pretty much like us.
Yeah, right? We are just like Nathan Drake and Victor slowly Sullivan. I'm silly. You're you're slowly.
Yeah, okay. I don't mind being I Thought that Antonio banderas didn't get like enough to do because this movie, you know, it's really relies on a bunch of twists Like over and over like was it like was like that in the game? Oh, yeah It's a whole lot of like this person matrices person and like over and over Yeah in the movie I felt like I was like four or five like surprises along the way like that was like twist like this person Working for this person actually this person working for this person. You're like what's happening and I also love Not just the treasure on movies I'm very fond of the national treasure movies And I saw what the score was for the Sanran tomatoes And I like legitimately if you wouldn't have if I would have known before him like what people were saying about it I probably would have been like yeah, I bet the reception for it's good That's like the wavelength I was on and then I saw it was at like 38 percent right now in the tomatoes And yeah, I don't think I agree with that aggregate But then it made me curious like you know how people are very fond of the national treasure movies like they're referenced them like they're I wouldn't say classics but people know like what they are and they think of them fondly if you're within like 20 years though, right?
It's been close. That's shitty Uh, if you were to guess what the this is the yeah If you're to guess what the first one was at on ron tomato, what would you say? It's at like 40. Oh really?
Yeah, and the second one's pretty low and the second one's at like 36 You know, it's like that's kind of surprising, but it's not like you know the scores matter Like even the scores like that doesn't really matter because they'll talk about it enjoy it And same with like parts of the Caribbean so in three they don't have like huge like high scores either I think they should but that's just me um I see we're in them. I was not in the school guy. That'd be cool. I was I want one. Yeah, I was in a competition I was like I'm gonna give the better review than you right now Do what are rankings? No, no charted probably you played the video because I haven't really thought I was like, okay I mean, they only got like was just tom holland and mark all the way over there were on screen together now when they were on their own Like that was okay, but when we're together Uh talking to one another and it's like whole banter. That's when I really enjoyed it Do you think that I noticed that mark wellberg does it's like a weird voice kind of pattern sometimes like it reminded me of Ted Yeah, it's basically because I have a conversation with like Seth McParlade Ted or something because like he's a great actor and I think he's really good in this It's weird Father's do I think that looks funny Father father's do Uh part of the sort of discrepancy Like people have issue with here when this movie was first announced is I feel bad for actors that Start to get cast in everything because then people start to like give this unnecessary hate towards them Like tom holland is kind of at the center of it now Like you'll see like why see in this and why see in this and then these actors end up taking breaks for like four or five years Because then they're like well I mean people are being annoying about it.
Yeah, like Jennifer Lawrence for example was finally back in like So wow Forever that too because like but It's like nice like it feels like different was just like forcing to act. Yeah Well, I remember my problem with Jennifer Lawrence was her as a mistake like not great But she wasn't really like up for that role and those movies were not Great. Yeah anymore. Um although I guess they're bringing them that kind of with dr.
Strange But mark wallberg whenever people whenever he was announced a lot of people assumed that he'd be Nathan Drake because that character is supposed to be in his 30s kind of In this and well not in this movie but in the series like in the games But also casting him a solely was a weird choice of people because solely is much older But I think they want to go the route of Let's do the spider-man approach as well and sort of make these characters grow up with each other over time And I don't know if this is gonna get a sequel. I don't really know how they determine like video game sequel movies because Uh like they typically don't do well critically financially the different story like I don't know how well Tomb Raider did But that's not getting a sequel. Hey, what did you think about the opening credits for the PlayStation? I thought it was weird I thought I was like I'm gonna play a video game right now.
