For episode 200, Dave Stachowiak and Dr. Sandie Morgan interview Dr. Harriet Hill. Harriet is the program director for the Trauma Healing Institute at American Bible Society and is one of the authors of Healing the Wounds of Trauma.  Together they discuss the globally accessible materials and training from the Trauma Healing Institute that gives professionals, church leaders, and ordinary people the skills to help others heal from trauma. Key Points Trauma isolates people from self, others, and God. There are three main ways people respond to trauma: they relive the experience, they avoid anything that would remind them of the experience, or they’re on alert all the time. Three questions recommended asking people affected by trauma are: What happened? How did you feel? What was the hardest part for you?  Healing the Wounds of Trauma is focused on the individual person and their expression of their pain, not on the person who is trying to help them.
