#200 - Turning Life's Lessons Into Songs of Passion

from Business Side of Music · host The Business Side of Music Podcast

In one of our most powerful, intimate, and deeply thought provoking interviews we've ever had on this our 200th episode, we spend time back in the studio with the legendary lyrical illustrator and hit songwriter Jack Williams. Adopted, and raised as a single child, Williams talks of his childhood, which included a physically abusive relationship with his dad. From that experience, along with others during his formative years, Jack shaped his songwriting prowess from those life lessons learned, ultimately creating material for his latest recording project "Halfway To Hell". From the ashes of his father/son relationship, he released his current single titled "Beat Me Again" off the album. Co-written with the notable and esteemed actor and director, W. Earl Brown ("Deadwood", "Draft Day'', "Something about Mary", "The Highwaymen") W. Earl Brown, produced and directed this powerful and poignant video for "BEAT ME AGAIN" at Mt Olivet Cemetery in Nashville TN, painting a visual picture of Jack singing it at his father's grave, alongside female songwriter and vocalist Brandy Zdan.  Williams, as a songwriter, has channeled the feelings on this new project in hopes others can see how he has prospered and followed his dreams of being an acclaimed songwriter. Along with producing his solo projects, Jack currently also has several songs on the Kevin Costner hit show "Yellowstone". https://hjackwilliamsmusic.com Music heard on this episode: Song: "One More Day" From the Album: "Halfway To Hell" Songwriter(s): H.
