Canción: “Duelo de Gigantes” Antonio VegaLEFT-HANDEDWithout a doubt, the world is more complicated if you are left-handed. The simplest everyday tasks become difficult by the simple fact of using the left hand and not the right hand. Surely if you are right-handed you have never stopped to think about how complicated it can be for a left-handed person to turn the crown of the watch, or you put it in your right hand or you will not be able to handle it easily. Have you considered how a lefty handles a tape measure? And scissors? Even more difficult, how to manipulate a can opener or a peeler?Writing in tablet arm chairs in which the base is on our right is an impossible position if the hand you use is the left, as well as taking notes in a spiral notebook.Between 10 and 15% of the population is left-handed, in Spain about 5 million people. Fortunately, more and more people think of them, in large cities there are shops for left-handed people where we can buy everything from scissors to the most sophisticated kitchen item.Years ago being left-handed was so negative that parents and teachers forced children to use their right hand mainly in school, many people my age write with the right and use the left for everything else, eat, paint, touch a instrument, etc. It seems that the “zurdera” is not as dominable as it was believed.Today being left-handed is not negative at all, it is more, there are myths of all kinds around them, many positive as they are more creative and intelligent, born wrestlers and healthier, although they are also said to have bad temper and get angry easily.Whether true or not, the important thing is that life, for a few years, is easier for those who handle themselves better with their left hand.
