The first Shared Value Summit kick starting today in Johannesburg, South Africa is the first on the African continent with the aim of raising awareness and advocating for the success of the strategic implementation of the Shared Value business model. The Shared Value Initiative was launched by consulting firm FSG and Prof. Michael Porter in 2012. The inaugural 2017 Africa Shared Value Summit is modelled on the successful Shared Value Leadership Summit held annually in New York. Shared value is a management strategy in which companies find business opportunities in social problems.
