2017 NFL Preview

Ladies and gentlemen welcome back. Thank you for checking out another edition of dead end sports We like to call this the best couple of hours of your sports week. Of course.

Hope y'all enjoyed your Labor Day weekend and all that other good stuff And uh, yeah, I was in Dallas. I was visiting my sister for the holidays Back in town, you know, I got today off working and tomorrow so I'm nice nice little short work weekend I get chill out and relaxing stuff man. So yeah, you ready for some football just got me doing a draft We can so you know radio body kickoffs this Thursday. No doubt.

No doubt and the homie kin is in the building can't well Chilling man much like uh be I was out of town this weekend was an Hilton head getting chased by Gators Well, you saw a gate of a reel. Yeah, man. Check the IG I was right on the bank. So the house we stayed had like a little little fishing pond Lake or whatever creek or whatever it was in the back.

So when I got back from from biking Um, I went out there and then you know, he was just right there like people up just looking at me and then He just we don't rest all of her And what he did was it didn't really sound like that y'all know what it did but still but But what he did was he I guess he got taught him was looking at it So he opened his mouth y'el and went back under the water But what I saw was him open his mouth yel and come on in and started running after That's what I saw That's all I mean we're not out there. So cool cool cool My labor didn't wasn't it wasn't as it was I stayed in the amen watch a lot of college football and chill man They just kick with the family. I didn't do too much. Um, so yeah We we got a lot of stuff to talk about the homie people will be on the way of course This is the NFL preview of you've been down with dead-ins boys from day one You know that the week before the season starts we give our predictions we talk about the NFL in general And um, you know, it's interesting because we and we've said on previous podcast that uh, you know Realistically the NFL really hasn't been the talk of the sports world Uh, it's been kind of relatively on the back burner You know when you think about the NBA and then more here recently the major league baseball But the NFL is back the season kicks off this coming thursday with the defending super bowl champion Uh, new england patreon taking on the kansas city chiefs on nbc Uh, good luck to everybody out there in the dead-ins boys fantasy leagues and if you are in a fan If you're in a fantasy football league, uh, make sure to just set your draft because you know third those thursday night games Tend to always slip up.

Uh, we got notification that earlier today with the uh incoming Um hurricane armor that the dolphins would have dolphins playing the dolphins are playing somebody Um, in miami and the game has been postponed They're not sure if they're gonna move it to another location or if they're gonna try to play later on in the season So, you know, so you want to adjust your fantasy schedules. Um, speaking of fantasy football real quick In miami they tell you evacuate please evacuate That's like the category five right now. It's yeah, it's it's no joke And I mean we saw the and we and and I apologize I didn't realize it until after we finished last week that we forgot to mention I thought some prayers with the people of south texas and houston You know what they had to deal with and and still currently dealing with uh, with the remnants of hurricane harvey Um, and you know, just let everybody know I don't know if we have and i'm pretty sure we have listeners out there Uh, we're definitely you're definitely not prayers. Um, and uh, you know for those of you if you decide to To donate or give, uh, you know, make sure that you do it the right way and find nice chowable Places to donate and give um, yeah, with that being said like like we said there's evacuations Uh being put in order for the state of florida.

It's already been declared a state of emergency So i'm pretty sure this miami game is not going to be played this weekend Uh, so but on the fantasy side Please set your rostas because the season does kick off this thursday in prime time with uh brady and the crew taking on the kansas city Chiefs Um, so let's start right there man. Uh nfl man be what teams are you looking forward to seeing a team or teams that you're looking for? Season seeing the season and why? Um, you know looking forward to seeing piss bird because you know, you have my tavius brian No, I think he's got a one game suspension, but after that, um, he's healthy as far as we know 100 Healthy ready to go so, you know, I want to see what bink gonna do with uh, now You can have his other go to gown on the side of the of the field and my tavius brian, you know, lady I'm be able to be 100 percent.

Um, you know, come you know, no suspension no for games suspension come into the season Um, you know, he got paid got his franchise tax we got his money so interestingly what piss bird is gonna do Plus i'm always room for time, man. We got a roof to brother man got a rush Um, another squad i'm looking forward to seeing is, um, who else kind of a lana, you know, not not to Just because I live here, but just to see how, you know, are they mentally drained or mentally motivated? You know, that's what I want to see out of out of a lana with these first three to four weeks of this season, you know, It's really kind of usually always say the first two weeks of regular season is kind of like an extension of the preseason, you know, Just got to start this plan, but um, yeah, I kind of want to see where where a lana hate is that because you know, after After losing the lead, you know, we all know about losing the lead like that in the super bowl You know, sometimes it can motivate you or it can just suck the life out of you We won't see a lana get to this level again. So I really want to see i'm interested How, lana's going to hold up this with this epic the super bowl lost hangover.

Um, I think that's that's it I mean, as far as i'm just a team, I mean, I you know, my lions i'm not not concerned with my lion We won't even probably we won't probably make the playoffs if that um, so you know, i'm not looking forward to seeing that football Even though i'm gonna probably go still see him sometime some point That was gonna be my next question you actually got my question I'm gonna go see him, you know, I still got support. I got a ride a die, you know, um Yeah, that's it. So yeah, piss bird and lana and i'm sorry one more and um, oakland raiders. I'm interested Because you know, unfortunately their car got hurt at the wrong time of the year because we all know oakland raiders was rolling into the playoffs, man It was looking we was predicting them to compete with um, uh, the patrons for the sce check Oh, and it's unfortunate that their car got injured now you got b-smo back there playing in his hometown So yeah, okay.

That was another team. So yeah, that's alana Who I say alana at piss bird and oakland in the squad i'm looking forward to like re checking out True indeed true. What about you can who you looking what team or teams are you looking forward to seeing this year? All right.

So for me, man, i'm i'm kind of Um going in a little bit in the opposite direction of be i'm looking forward to seeing the new york jacks Why that sounds odd, but I just refuse to believe that they're going to be as bad as they're probably really going to be I'm just curious man. This is gonna be like watching a watching a traffic accident So I just I just got to watch this because they have absolutely nobody at quarterback and at receiver And um, so I just got to see that and um the other team And i'm looking forward to seeing um play this year. Where are they uh the cleaving browns believe it or not? Oh my god, see what yeah, man, you know what we know what the good team is gonna do.

I want to see how bad are the bad team Right how bad are the bad team? Yeah, so let's see what this you know because you know, they have some talent on that brown steam So let's see what huge accent does let's see what kyzer does. Um now that they've gotten rid of proc cos whileer gorykoman, uh, willy, you know break out this year. Can he stay healthy?

Um, they still have a pass catch running back into chonston and as they're for well, so let's see what they they do and um I'm with b on marshal. Well, oh clean, but I just want to see what marshal does and um, uh, let's see I want to see what davin cooked. You know what he does in a what he you know, what he you know, what he do and in minnesota He was one of my favorite. Uh, I liked him a lot as a when he played in college So, um, that'll be interesting for me and and I guess the last team for me, um would be well, um real quick I'm going to shine Watson watch and he's okay, okay, so And the last one is of course Tampa bay.

I want to see what Winston does with uh all the weapons he has and ky Take it to the next level. So that's what I got Yeah, I echo some of the same teams that you said um, you know first and foremost for me It's Tampa. Um, I think Tampa is one of those teams and I got a chance to see more hard knocks But even last year I said like yo, this team isn't that far away And they came on strong at the end of the season last year and they barely made barely miss the playoffs Um, but I think this this is a team that you know defensively is scary Uh, they're a little banged up and and not as strong on the back end but that front seven Uh, that front seven is as good as any front seven you'll see in the NFL Uh, so I'm interested to see how they can you know, what what the next step is for them Um, not really sold on dirt cutter as a coach. So we'll see uh, I particularly I like when lovey smith was there But you know they got rid of brother But um, but uh, but yeah, I like I think Tampa's gonna be one of the teams that I'm looking forward to seeing I got a chance to see him a couple of times in preseason and they look pretty decent At times, uh, james look good at times look bad at times and and can he be more consistent?

I think that's the biggest question I have Um, the other team that another another team in the NFC that I'm looking forward to seeing is the clc hogs Uh, this is a team that went through a lot this past off season. Um, richard churmin was the subject of trade talks Uh, russell wilson showed up, you know, at the fight party with looking decked out like a gangster. Um, you know, I I wonder how and you know, of course, michael bened has been i've spoken, you know with the black lives matter movement and you know, very supportive of Colin kapanick and um, you know, so they made a lot of headlines off the field But i'm interested to see how things play out for them on the field. Um, I think they're a team that Realistically could go all the way, but I think that window is closing and i'm interested to see what happens if it doesn't happen this year What happens as far as whether or not they'll tweak the lineup or you know kind of blow things up Um over in the AFC man like you can i'm looking forward to seeing houston I think at some point in time probably earlier than later during the season.

I think the shawwassen is going to be starting quarterback I don't believe in toms average. I've never believed in toms average I probably will never believe in toms average, but I think the shawwassen has what it takes and keep in mind This is a team that if they had consistent quarterback played last year probably could have beaten the Patriots So i'm interested to see how they put it all together Uh, another team that And I know this is going to make kin smile another team that i'm looking forward to seeing Interested in seeing what they do Cincinnati Bengals led by Andy don't Oh And the reason why And the reason why I say that is because the and Marvin keep in mind Marvin Lewis if i'm not mistaken is the second longest tenured coach in the NFL Right behind the guy with the hoodie in front of indu england So I mean he's been there like 14 15 years and every year we're like, okay marvison Hi, see he's on the high seat, but he manages to get it done You know, they've had injuries. They've had like, you know, just bad luck vontas burfin, you know got suspended again Um, but i'm i think this is the year that they should be able to put it all together Can they and will they i'm not sure but i'm interested to see how this thing goes If this team puts it because they have enough honestly they have enough talent to be right there with the best teams in the a orc But can they keep it together? That's the thing so and you know can as a green say healthy and can you know, they've got good running backs and they've got a great defense But can they keep it together?

Um, you know, so i'm looking for it. So those are the teams i'm looking forward to seeing and i think Those all of those teams right there, uh, you know, definitely will shine or at the very least be very interesting Um, you know coming forward for the season now when we start talking about the games Of course you have the uh in the divisional the the divisional rivalries. Um, but can what game or games are you looking forward to seeing and why? Um, let's see here.

So i'm not really much of of a, you know, kind of like a scheduled guy that looked for a certain games Um, but i think one of the most obvious games that i'm looking forward to see is when Adrian Peterson go back to minnesota when they play Mm-hmm. So if i had to pick one and answer it would definitely be that one man because i want to see how Peterson, you know, reacts to Um, you know, playing against his old team. He's been he was a Viking for so long and um, and i was not so that should be um An interesting game to watch to say the least What about you be uh, any particular game or games that you're looking forward to seeing? Uh, man, um, i'm up here looking through the schedule now.

Um, i can't even think off the top of my head what games i'm Game or games are looking forward to. Well, i know you're alliance fan or any other games like that alliance play that you look for to maybe more so than others Nope. Um, i mean i look forward to seeing alliance when they play the Falcons That's about it. I mean and there's a Super Bowl rematch.

I mean too bad. That's not the thursday night kickoff game. Um, Yeah, I mean is is um, right? Raiders play in seattle at some point this year because i would like to see marshall Ench see how you play against his old squad if they're playing i don't know if they're playing i don't you know, i don't think that they are Okay, i'll pull it up and see it.

I don't think it lines and falcons week three and uh falcons and patriots I think like october 22nd. Uh, that was go to go to july stadium and play sir. I would like to see that No doubt no doubt. I think for me um, I always I like seeing the rival particularly when my team Isn't involved or whatever like that.

I like seeing the rivalry games. So um, you know anytime I can see Even I don't have even though i don't have a dog in the fight But like seeing the cowboys and reskins those games all the nse games always become like really really fun And you know, I like being on social media seeing the fans go back and forth Um, just personally for me because I grew up a giant fan and I still love the giant city's day. Um Giant's cowboys like that game no matter what because and given the fact that the giant beat the cowboys twice last year Um, you know those anytime those two teams play always look forward to it because it's bitter and the giant's don't like the cowboys And the cowboys don't like the giants and they don't really you know, it's not like they try to hide You know, it's it's really really you know in your face. Um, also Steelers uh ravens You know when you talk about smash my football, it's really really smash my football both teams really hate each other the fan bases hate each other I love seeing seeing them go back and forth.

Um and those games while they generally aren't pretty games as far as like high scoring games It's always a smash mouth game and those games always seem to come down to a kick or a penalty or something something, you know, at the last minute So I'm really looking forward to like the giant's cowboys, uh, Steelers Ravens Um, well, is there another rivalry that that's pretty much it I it used to be 49ers and Seahawks, but you know the 49ers. I mean terrible right now. Um, and obviously living here man Saints Falcons, that's always uh, that's always because of fan base again because fan bases each other Um, thanks Falcons is always fun. Um, for me as well.

Um, all right, man. So let's break it down. These divisions Uh, let's start first in the AFC B who wins the AFC and why? Uh, you know, uh, I think we've been saying this every since the mid sports and it's you know, it's the mighty patrons You know, it's is always going to be the patrons until the time Brady or they suffer five more injuries in that on that team I'm gonna pick someone else, but I mean to me and I'm gonna have to go with the patrons man and the patrons the defending champs They just they've been fortunate to play in a cupcake division.

I mean, I hate to be the guy that said it I mean, the session on to them. I don't you shame the devil. Yeah. Uh, the couple years that the Jets had them good defenses Uh, when they went to the FC championship game, uh, that's about it.

But other than that, patrons AFC That is that is what about you can who wins AFC East and why? I mean, um Damn man, this sucks. Um, I don't even want to say it. Uh, uh, uh, that team be said, um, I think they'll I mean they should win it.

The Dolphins have cutler as their quarterback The Jets quit before the season started and so get the bills they quit They can win this division which you could be percent starting as the quarterback. So yeah, they're gonna win this division They just traded too, which was a surprise to me. So so yeah, so uh, yeah, they'll win Not getting to say their names Oh, the disrespect. Um, I gotta make it a trifecta man.

I think uh, I think new England wins the east Like be said, I don't of the years we've been doing that in sports I don't think we've any of us ever picked somebody other than new England in the east. Um, I don't know man Like you said, Ken, the Jets had a little run there for a while And I feel bad for Jets fans because the Jets fans are probably some I'm very close with some Jets fans They might be some of the most loyal fans who are absolutely getting nothing in return I mean, because if you think about that jet team, what is there to watch on that team? Like other than just watching the Jets like there's nothing uh entertaining about that team Um, you know, they were a little entertaining when wretch ryan was there because he could talk trash and you know, It's high bowls man. I know you hanging on for your job and this is this is gonna be a long year, man I mean, that's a team that They might win three games four games hopefully, um, but uh, They're doing the brother wrong.

They're doing the brother wrong. I like let's be real He's got his work cut off on this one, man. This is gonna be it's gonna be a lean year to say the least Um, but yeah, I got the Patriots win in this division I would be surprised that if anybody in the division could actually give them a run for the money Um To be honest, I'll be surprised if anybody in the division beat them Uh, uh as far as divisional games, um, it's I mean, it's new England. I don't know what else to say new England I mean, we already know what they are they're great team.

So, uh, you know, my amines like you said They got they pulled jay cut off the scrap heap buffalos a train wreck Um, you know and then the jets I mean like this to me and there's no disrespect This is the weakest division in the NFL and you need not looking for it further than you know The jet's quarterback situation and that tells you all that you need to know about where this particular division is So yeah, I got east going to the Patriots. Uh, now let's take it to the south AFC south can who wins and why? All right, so AFC south what we're working with here. So the Tetons the Jaguars the Colts and the Titans This is a very very very ugly division.

Um, Andrew luck is beat up, uh, uh, you know, um Mariola can't steal the field to jackwars out borders as the quarterback and um The tensions are starting times So it's it's terrible man, but I I'm going to go with the Tennessee Titans Okay. Okay. Why you got why you got the Titans? You know what man?

I gave mario a hard hard time. Um, but I have to admit he's In a reduced role. Um, he has played effective. Um, he doesn't take a lot of risks But you know, he gets he gets the job done.

I mean he doesn't turn the ball over and that's key in uh in the NFL because he All the possessions count. He just can't give the team the ball like that So I think if he can stay healthy, they got decker who's a touchdown machine They got cori Davis who if he can stay healthy, uh, can be a weapon for them down the stretch They have two elite running backs and they have a tight in and and Delaney Walker So, um, the rest is really up to mario to like can he stay on the field and when he's on the field He's very very efficient and he he's basically doing what he was doing in college He just kind of walked the team down Um to score very Brady light, you know, they don't really They go deep when you know, the guy's wide open but outside of that, you know, he just takes what the defense gives them And uh, and that's it. So I think with the way the rest of the teams are and how I think this division is just, you know, Depressed division. Um, I think I would like them to uh, to win this division.

I think it'll be interesting and fun to see mario to, um Go ahead and capture his first division title. Okay. Okay. Okay.

What about you B? Uh, AFC South man who takes it in Y AFC South I'm gonna I'm gonna roll with my my man's the shot watching him. He was in texas, man. Okay.

He's not You know, I think he's gonna buy I give him a week, three week four. He'll be he'll be starting. Um Yeah, I think finally I think we're finally gonna get a uh, healthy defense a healthy jj watt and clowny Hopefully for a good 80 percent of the season. Um, because you know, clowny proved why he was the you know, first round draft Because at first we was getting ready to label him as the bus As a bus in a league, but you know, he held on and held his own and he showed out in the playoffs So that was good showed on the big stage.

So I think I'm gonna go with texas, man That was the only thing that was missing last year was the QB They showed us the blooper how to beat the patrons. They had an offense. They had no QB that was serviceable So, um, I think I think they gonna be all right man. I think texas gonna take this Listen to be the second year in a row and they gonna take the division.

They took it last year, right? Yep, yeah, I got the texas repeating again as the AFC South champs I'm with you man. I think it's it's the texas division to win Uh, can you you you laid out a compelling argument man for for the titans? Something just I don't know man.

It's something about the titans. I just don't trust. Um, you know, they do have mary I like mariota win healthy. Um, and I really a fan of that defense that they have even though they're pretty solid You know, they're not flashy anything like that.

But um, I think it'll come down to the texans and the titans Um battling it out, but I like I like the texas man And I think eventually uh savage will give way to you know playing poor and you know, john wyser will be eventually starting And I think when you look at what they have as far as a run game They've got hopkins on the outside uh that great defense with jj white coming back off a back injury If he you know injuries with standing if he can get back to what he was Which I don't think is you know crazy enough to think that he wouldn't and then you got clowny on the other side First time and this this this texan squad could be scary and you know, given everything that's happening south texas and he was in In particular, you know, they have a little bit more motivation to be playing for their fans and you know before we even move on big Shout out to jj white man for raising at this point 20 million dollars in hurricane relief funds for uh people who have been affected by hurricane harvey Uh, I think when he initially started out he wanted to raise 200,000 and it went from 200,000 and he's right now They're sitting at 20 million man So big shout out to him for you know getting out there getting his face out there and asking people to donate money and the time and efforts and And it's been it's been i'm pretty sure far far beyond his dreams and it's actually going to help the houston community So i'm big up to him and you know, he's doing for not just Houston But all the south texas and louisian as well. Um, but yeah, I like the titans. I'm seeing I like the texans Um, I think it'll be close. I think this this division probably will come down to the last couple of weeks of the season But giving me the texans, um coming out of the afc south Uh, so as the afc north afc north b who you got coming out of afc north?

Uh afc north I have Mm. Yeah, this is always a toughy one always stuff because you got i think i'm gonna go with peace Bird i'm gonna go with peace bird. Okay. I don't it seemed like baltimore and maybe maybe take a step back this year Um, you know, you know cans boy You know, yeah, riff was black.

Oh, but yeah, I mean, i think facebook they're gonna take the big I got them taking a fc north with um With um, you know, it's always that toss up a tie between ravers and bangles he was gonna take that second spot But i got i got to still just taking a fc north No doubt. No doubt what about you can't a fc north you got? um You know what they have everybody now, so I have to pick the stillers I was gonna say a lot. I like the bingles, but I just they have way too many running backs and I don't think they know who's who Um, so I think the stillers with all their weapons finally available and um for the first time in a long time war for the first time Period people are excited to see what they do.

My name is brian, lady on bell and tony o brown They got elai rogers and uh, they just got a advanced met donna who's a pass catch and tighten in uh when he catches the ball And then they have jesse, jesse jesse jame advanced met donna's dropped the balls a lot. Um So, uh, then they picked up uh joe haten who was released by the browns and i was looking to see if he was one of the ones that protest too But I can find it anyway. Um Because that was i don't think he was either. Yeah, he yeah, that was weird, but uh, so they picked him up So the defense uh the second area should be a little bit better So I like the stillers, but I think this could also be a case where everybody's hyped up and looking for forward to seeing what a team does And they do absolutely nothing Yeah, I think i'm I got to go with the Steelers too, man.

I think pizberg Uh, I was a little concerned during the off season when there was talk that ben bothers burger was talking about retiring Because anytime i got started talking about retiring that means like he's you know, he ain't he ain't playing around like he's really serious about it And um, you know, I didn't think that he that there was any doubt he was becoming back But the fact that he was talking about it was a cause for concern I'm like, okay, well, maybe maybe his head's not in it Um, but you know it could have been him just being emotional after the end of the season It was a rough ending to the end of the season for them and then obviously you had to hold out with uh, labia on bell Uh, as you mentioned, brian has been reinstated. Um, I think they got better on defense Um, and I think the Steelers really have the blueprint and you know what they want to do And they know what they want to do and they you know, they they do what they can't to kind of impose their will Lavey on bell in my opinion still the best back in the game. Uh, and tonya brown is in my opinion If not one one a as far as receivers in the game. So, uh, so I got to go with pizberg.

I think they probably go They probably lose four or five games, but they win this division. I just I'm in and as i mentioned i'm interested to see where senson adi is but can sense and adi go toe to toe with pizberg That's the question i have i think balsamor takes a step back Uh, i'm not so that flaco is back and that his back is fully healthy Um, and I know you know, kenden didn't believe in joe flaco, but um, but uh, you know, I believe in flaco I just don't have a How many years has it been? How many years has it been? Okay Oh man, so So, yeah, i'm not i'm not i can't get i can't jump on the flaco bandwagon this year, man So I got a i got a roll of pizberg man.

I think pizberg gets it done in the a fc north Um Now let's take it to the uh, where we going next we going to oh, wait a minute. We got my man fifona. Fifo, what's up, man? Is he on yo, yo, yo, what's up?

Good man. Where the hell does that weather come from? I don't know man. It was uh, it was sunny and then it just started raining like all of a sudden Man, man, man, man, what it could be worse.

It could be you know, it definitely could be but um, it wasn't gravy It definitely added like another 30 minutes to my community. I understand. I understand totally We were just in a kick talking about the nfl right now. We were talking about the uh, we're gonna take it to the a fc west Um, b what about you as far as the a fc west?

Uh, who do you think wins it and why? Fc west. Oh, that's it with Denver, Kansas City charges. Okay.

Oh, I got Oakland man. I you know, I got Oakland um cars back He's gonna be on the tear. I think he's I think he's angry because you know that last season slips from them due to his injury Um, they got beast mode. I know that's gonna bring us some extra additional locker room motivation Um, you know, someone that's a super ball winner that knows what it knows what it takes and he's motivated because he's playing for sontown So i'm pretty sure that's that's another, you know, one up for them.

So that should be pretty cool. Um, what else? I think that's it. Yeah, I got okay What about you before who do you have coming out of the a fc west?

I would have to agree. I got Oakland's their car. I think is the best quarterback in that um in that division and um, you know, If you just make out the best quarterback in every division, you can probably pick up Um, and you know everything that b said marshaun is gonna be highly motivated to play. Um, you know, I think they're a car Even though he I don't think he's cracked the top 10 because he's still so young that he has to be able to put in the years To prove that he's worthy of that top 10 just in terms of arm talent alone.

He's top 10 Right. So you know coming off of that injury. I think he's feeling like he has something to prove that defenses up and coming with kylee Um, yes, yes, I just think they have the perfect storm I think this is I think this is the year. I don't think they can sneak up on anybody I think where they are now in terms of their talent thing want that challenge.

So I like where they are man Jack, no real guys and boys operate True indeed. What about you? Can't uh a fc west who wins it and why? Um, hmm.

I know it really does give me philip rivers and if that team stay healthy I think they could I think they could shock the NFL or the and the fc west and take this division Um philip rivers tarell Williams keen alan melvin gordon Um, huna hirry and tonyo geeks. Um, I think they can do it man.

So so I'm gonna go I don't know them and venture away from the pack on this one and i'm gonna go with the los angeles charges Because you know Always no matter it don't matter. You know what fifo look the charges won a lot of close games last year, right? What sits sits or seven of them and on the final drive or within one point if those go the other way Then we talking about a different team. So i'm saying that they're not gonna go the other way and in addition to that philip rivers lost keen alan in what the first half of last year and he kept losing receiver after receiver Melba gordon went down.

I think danny with it went down. So, you know, they struggled. So yeah, i'm watch i'm gonna be right watch You'll see famous last words watch i'm gonna be right I'm gonna go with a i'm gonna go with case c. I'm not case.

I'm sorry. I'm gonna go with uh, uh, the the raiders Um, I agree with what b and fifo said man. I think car Car's injury man really put a damper around. I think what could have been a magical season for the raiders last year They get better.

You know car has another year under his belt, you know playing with the mari cooper who is you know A fantasy keeper, um and a stat pusher on on the outside. Uh, then you get beast mode coming back coming out of retirement You don't know. I mean and I saw his and I got to go back to fantasy football But I saw his name come off the board very early in fantasy drafts and because you got to figure that marsh on lynch Even if even if he's not running, you know from from the from the 20 to 20. He's definitely getting the ball inside the red zone Um because he's a he's always been a great short yardage back.

Um, so and that defense is improving with glill mac Uh, they've got to get better on the outside. I think they gave up a lot of passes Um for touchdowns last year. Uh, they've had some orthophilia issues. Uh, the kid just got you know popped for uh, what was it?

Beaten up his girlfriends his sister's boyfriend or something like that. So, um, you know, typical raiders, man typical raiders Uh, so I like this team the AFC west is going to be tough. Uh, I'm not sold on denver Uh because of the quarterback situation, uh, and I'll touch on that in a second. Um, and then you know, kansas city who you know has a great defense You know, he just has to ask yourself.

Can you trust? Alex, uh, Alex, uh, Alex Smith Now the mohomes kid behind him is going to be special. I think he's gonna be good But he you know, I think Andy redoes want to understand why and he's not gonna plan this year. Um, but speaking of quarterbacks Well, I wanted to subject with quarterbacks and denver, uh, denver welcome to new face this week Uh, Brock oswarla was cut by the cleveland browns and Sarah unceremoniously cut Uh after signing a contract that would pay him $16 million this year And he's going back to his former team the denver broncos where he will compete for the starting position Um, you know, it got me to think and I didn't even have this on here But I'm gonna throw this question you guys.

You know, years ago. We did our videos We would do our top 10 videos top 10 at the positions I was telling one of my coworkers today like how bad the quarterback position has fallen off Uh in the NFL so I'm gonna throw this question you guys and be also you and I'm not I'm not gonna ask you for your top 10 But do we have like 10 really really good quarterbacks in the NFL 10 great quarterbacks in the NFL No Because I think we got like a handful of really good quarterback. We I think got a couple of great quarterbacks couple of good quarterbacks And then after that it just sucks Yeah, no, we don't I mean because you think okay, let's let's name know which we always say the elites right uh Brady and Rogers Um, jubries. Mm-hmm.

I'm forgetting. I'm forgetting somebody else. No, that's about it as far as elite At least you got the you got like the second so you got what you got the Matt Ryan's you got the Ben Roppins burgers you got the Where would you put a Eli you like what Eli? Probably on a tier right?

I would like a third tier I would say I think they I think you just respected big man a little bit be no no no no no no no no no no He's second tier what you put him with the Brady's and air Rogers. Yeah Yeah No, I said we agree there where um Ben is definitely better than Eli but Ben You know Ben has always had like a lot of other stuff. See like the elite like that first tier No matter what you put around them. They don't they don't get it don't matter don't put no online don't worry about it Right pay man.

He was like that right so that's the first year second tier is I'm not gonna lose you guys any games. I'm way better than the majority of the quarterbacks in the league I might lose you a game or two just because you know, I think I'm the guy but the defense really has me figured out But I'm good enough to go to a Super Bowl. I may not win it, but I'm good enough to get there That's the second tier third tier is Right, right place. Hold on.

Hold on. Third tier is more right time right place We might win but it ain't guaranteed. We just might make the playoffs just maybe Kirk's those are the three two Maybe fourth tier Kirk cousins, but he's statistically he's been up there though. He's a legend at the bank.

Okay, so Ralph based on that criteria. You just laid out. I think we should put that's a great criteria too in the elite tier He's done it without I think Russell Wilson should be in the elite tier then I couldn't put Russell. You know, I think I think he's stuck in tier by five by FIFA's definition I'm thinking like here's what I'm thinking.

I'm thinking like a quarterback that if you say, okay Get me 303 touchdowns this Sunday I think the quarterbacks that he named in that top tier can do that on a week to week basis It don't exactly don't matter. Um Like you said next tier. I think those guys can't do it, you know, but it's not all the time Uh the next year Right. Exactly.

Where's kind of like man like what happened? So let me ask you this if we go by those tiers, where do we put cam new? Can't lose in the second tier Okay, so you would have been third No, no, no, no, I think but I'm not done with Russell FIFA said okay, you can put an elite guy is a guy that would go out and get it done We do we regardless of who's on the field. How was that not Russell Wilson?

Because Russell did his thing, but he didn't do it like Tom Brady did with the no name, right? I'm not he not out there throwing for three something three three four touchdowns no picks in the blue It's all he's done. Huh? That's all he's done Wait a lot of the read a lot of the success and I'm not saying anything was from Russell Wilson that defense has been an all-time great defense Yeah, for their run for their run just think about it all time great defenses don't have more to two three years It's hard to keep all those guys together.

They don't have one of two three years for their run You gotta consider them top five defense all time. I'm not saying you put them there I'm just saying you you have they're in the conversation I remember you guys gave me a lot of crap when I made that same argument As to why Russell Wilson should be top 10 or whatever it was at the time But that's being this respect. Okay No, we only named three guys in the top. Yeah, I can't put him in the elite.

I can't put him in the elite But it's interesting that we haven't it's because like I said, I was having this conversation at day And I just kind of telling my corporate like I don't know that there I mean like I know that there's you know some great quarterbacks as a couple of good quarterbacks But I was like I'm having a hard time coming up with 10 and I was like I'm not even doing a list And I was going off the top of my head, but yeah, I would probably cam Russell Wilson Stafford Ryan flacko Uh, if you made a case for being being in tier one I wouldn't argue with that because I've been good Ben gets numbers You know, he doesn't you know he's been banged up, but I would have a problem Like when Ben in the top tier, but but we're the weak. He's not he's not the But we've seen playing elite and we've seen been We've seen been we've seen been struggled to But we've seen him do it with the revolving door of receivers too. He went from centennial homes Hi No, no, go ahead Wait, centennial homes Who else did he have high award? Yeah, like he had he's had a rotating crop of receivers and he still puts up numbers Year after year after year he does but you know what don't can the year if you look at the years that they won Right except for maybe this last one that they have they've primarily been defensive Right, and yeah, he's done it with a revolving door But it's not because of him when you watch those other three guys, right?

And even though two reasons again the W's now but the team is just awful around them, right? We don't know what's our pain doing. Hopefully they can turn it around but but the other two Eric Rogers and Tom Brady They're they're the primary reason why you win a football game. It's not the defense.

It's not the runga It's not nothing. It's them doing the those nuances those those those only erin rogers or a tamberedi play Or like only the place that those guys can make man like like those guys on a whole nother level Look matt ryan had the most comeback wins right? It's a start off at NFL career But he he's not doing it the entire game week to a week He's got Tom Brady and Eric Rogers for the majority of the game are dominant Yeah, you're gonna get 15 you're gonna get 14 to 15 dominant performances from these guys The next tier you're gonna get anywhere between eight to 12 maybe 13 dominant performances, maybe They're gonna have off game They bet he's had off game and usually those off games are the games that you lose And then but but the reason why they're tier two is because next week you already know you put the money on them They don't come out and have three four hundred yards because they're that great, but they're not erin rogers and Tom Brady I agree. I agree.

And that's why that's why we're with Russell Wilson in that that second tier He has gotten better and can I do remember the argument we had and we did give you hell for it But but he has gotten better and you know his you mentioned his receiver call He did pick up, you know, Jimmy Graham and so forth and um and I think it's it's time will tell and I think that's We'll see over a period of time how how the quarterback position evolves, but you know if even for those you're listening You know come up with a list Your list probably is gonna start starting thinning out at 10 11 12 13 because then you're like, okay now It's like okay shake them up Let me try to figure out who this is at 14 and 15 because this you know to be honest It's not a lot of great quarterback and I think we're in an era where you know the position man It's really kind of faith it really is but um, but um, but we got some youngin up and comers though We do famous you know what I'm saying? You know, we got about two or three when we got mario I like car. I like mario. They're like james.

Um, outside of the younger ones. I mean outside of that It's It's slim picking then I mean who knows who knows time will tell but right now Yeah, they they don't you know, it's and I mean I don't even want to get into Kaepernick But I mean this is something that for those of you been listening to what we've talked about like There the level of quality starting. Well, I mean look at the jets three quarterbacks. I mean come on man They might let me play you know, so but anyway, I digress Let's move over to the NFC The NFC is always cracking.

Uh, we got noticed just before we came on that the NFL upheld the special arbitrator upheld the Six games suspension for Ezekiel Elliott. So he will be suspended for six games Boring that they do not take this to court. However, he has been granted the ability to play this weekend and they play They kick off the season this sunday night at home meaning the cowboys at home against the giants Um, so let's all right now be uh, how do you see this who wins the NFC east and why? Um, well, this is gonna be interesting because you know, you got a team like Dallas who now You know, this is this is where we're gonna see what that can seek is about because last year rickies Called everybody by surprise and now you got defensive coordinators got the whole entire off season and training camp to study these guys To really know what these guys weaknesses are and this is what this is the same thing i said when cavernic when cavernic came and shocked everybody Was San friend and 15 to super bowl or whatever and i was like, okay, that's cool.

The defensive coordinator has got a film on a now This is cavernic going to do this is how i feel with decking and then with Dallas It's like now we're gonna see if deck and seek is a real deal because you know I I really haven't winning it, but I think i might i might go with um, I might be sure i might go watch Yep, i'm gonna go with the red skin is man They just got like a grimy. Hey, but you do know we're recording this right? Yes They just got like a grimy because i'm not i'm not so don't feel he i don't know why i'm not really I don't trust Billy and giants is just I guess as far as go is what you like and take him because i'm not i'm not so On giant's defense. I think they can they you can run you can run the scoreboard up on that defense But um, I think just rascans because of ugliness man Just because they can be that ugly team that's on sneaking air and being in wind division going like 9 and 7 10 and 6 I really think that nse is gonna be an ugly division as far as like wins go So I and I think I have a feeling some of these coordinators they might they might pick up on deck and we're gonna be like Oh deck having that somewhere.

I think that one had a sophomore slump I'm not saying that is gonna be a bummed rest of his career But I think he's gonna have a sophomore slump. I can't really say saying that by zik because you know It's you can they gotta go off his line. So I think we have a good once he comes back from his suspension assuming that he gets suspended Because I mean they could go to the court and he could be just like braiding He's gonna eat these games up. I think he's gonna come back angry pissed and he's gonna run He's gonna run hell out that ball.

I think he's gonna still be probably Fifth in russian at once the season is all said done even missing the first, you know He won't come back to week eight, you know what i'm saying? So I think zik is still gonna be top top five top six rb But deck I think deck might be in that sophomore slump, man So i'm gonna go watch the Redskins Kurt cousins and company man. You like that What about you people who wins this division and why? I think See this is the interesting division right because you got the Giants and all these divo irceivers I'm you know, I hear trying to get the same ball Um, you got the eagles with a second year quarterback that you know He looked all right.

You know pretty good early on then, you know people caught on and you know He didn't look as good. Um Then we got Dallas with zik obviously being out Uh the first six weeks that being the second year quarterback and we got the damn Redskins back Like how like how you really want me to pick this? Because my logical brain when I break everything down I'm like it is really a free-for-all it really is because I think that if zik was in the lineup for the first six weeks That wouldn't struggle and I like I wouldn't agree with people because zik is out I agree with me. I think he's gonna struggle a little bit at the beginning of the season I don't know where that puts them the Giants.

I like them offensively. You know, I think oh, there's the best wide receiver in the fell That's another conversation for another day. Um, I like the other wide receivers I like what they've done offensively, but no online defenses, you know, it's it's not it's not They're a bimba. Don't break defense.

They you know, and I think that if you don't have an online you need a defense I can get the ball back and they're just not that so I don't know where they go. Um, Washington Man, come on man. They have a rent a quarterback. That's basically what they got right now They got a rental quarterback and the rest of the rest of that team like what like I don't know how be struggling It's a Do what when I look at I just I don't know what to make of it man I don't know.

I'm gonna go I'm gonna go with the best overall player in the division I'm gonna be Jana Giants because just just as a that you know, say sometimes you play a game of poker And somebody has like the damn ten of clubs and that's a high card You can't do that notes. Maybe an ace maybe a jack, but it is what it is man. I'm taking OB Jana Giants. Okay.

What about you? Can't you know I wanted to go with Philadelphia Um, just because you don't want to hear Q's my own I You yeah, I think um, you know, getting as a Jeffrey is I think is an upgrade. Um You know, Earth showed out last year. He came on strong and I think no, it's the second year Went started out hot and then you know, he kind of hit a rookie wall So if he can you know carry that out through a full season, I you know, I was thinking that they may get the job done But now I think we'll go with the Dallas Cowboys Um, I'm just going with the quarterback.

I think that you guys know Um, and for those of you that have listened to the show, I was a big back fan when he was at Mississippi State I think there's something to this guy. I don't want to jump too far on the hike train yet I do believe Zeke's suspension will impact them But if that o-lot is what everybody says it is then Matt Fadden and Afro Morris can can jump in there and and you know Get get them through the six games. So Um, give me the Cowboys man. I like the Cowboys to win this division.

It's not gonna be easy, but it's NFL No game is easy and You know, I think that We Paul Perkins can't run the ball. You know, I know what people saying, but that that offensive line of New York is terrible. Um, and I don't know. I just he lies a turnover machine, man.

So Give me the Cowboys Never bet against Eli Shum Manning. Um, I'm going with the Giants man I like I like I'm now can you you did touch on something that I think is very key that a lot of people seem to forget Uh, the Giants running game is a work in progress to call it a working progress. I think is an understatement Um, however with uh, Sterling Shepherd, uh, working in the middle Um, you got Brandon Marshall who's in whack position and obviously Odell Beckham jr. Uh, Eli Manning has the weapons at his disposal Um, this year I think more so than any other year this the Giants go as far as Eli Manning can take him And you know if he's washed up or if he throws four picks in a game, you know, then you know, the Giants have to start looking at his replacement Um, you know, but defensively the scene came on really really strong at the end of the year Play very well.

I think that's gonna roll over into this season. Um, defense will I don't think the Giants will be I don't think there'll be a problem I think that the biggest question is gonna be the offensive line in the ranked game Uh, I don't trust Dallas. I know the Dallas has a great offensive line But I really think and be you touched on it and you said this as long as we've been doing this Once teams get a chance to get film on a guy, they seem to figure him out And I think if you look at the the the level level of caliber of teams that Dallas played last year They didn't play playoff teams. They they got that record primarily just from beating I mean you you play who's on your schedule, but they beat some of the worst teams in the NFL And that's not to say that they aren't good because Dallas is good.

However, you know They didn't play a lot of playoff teams last year on their way to making it to the playoffs before getting knocked out by uh, discount double check Um, so with that being said, I think Dallas will be fine Uh, I think they you know, they have decent money back then that can hold a fort But defensively Dallas can't stop anybody and that's going to be the problem Um, uh, the Eagles I like went I like him a lot. I think he's a lot better than I thought he was initially going to be Um But i'm not really sure about philadelphia's defense. I think philadelphia is you know, they're probably another year away Uh, be I don't understand how you pick a rescue and you said that they're ugly at it. I think ugly I mean like precious ugly right they are so ugly I You know what you're right though.

Yeah anything can happen anything can happen. That's not anything can happen. Right Yeah, I just I don't believe in kirk cousins. I god bless him.

I mean like he's a legend at the bank But um, but not he's not that good. And I think you know, it's gonna show. Um, so yeah, i'm taking a giant to win the nfc Uh moving over to the nfc south. We got the falfons.

We got the we got the uh panthers We got the bucks and we got the saints people. How do you see this? I'm shaking out who wins the nfc south Man, you know, look look two years in the room now It's the stuff this is tough because because they're making me go against my own room and what's wrong with that on georgia team Are you? You just you don't do you see what happened?

And I let my guard down. I let my guard down I said it was gonna be too much and it came out like that and it came out like that can and this is why tambre Is number one or number two on everybody list right now in the NFL because it don't matter It don't matter can it don't matter. They're gonna come back. But anyway, um, I got When When i'm looking at the nfc south The best team Is at lemma now.

I I think carolina with uh christian macafry on the college dad's name Macafry he's a dope player by the way Uh, but christian macafry has his own separate playbook About that. Yeah christian macafry has a whole offense designed around him So I definitely think he's gonna be a major weapon And I don't know if the falfons are gonna be able to stop him But if you're telling me to pick the vision when who's going the most games and even though i like that does have a tough They got a new cred And i'm going against my saying man and my saying they be meaning something Well, I got a people five because they the most talented team Wow I'm just saying you see i even mentioned the team to the south of us both of them. They know right right But man like who else i'm not picking care like they don't have enough they don't match up with us So it's crazy man, but i gotta pick the file because man It is there it is. Why? Uh I think with ksa early i can see cam newton and i'm having to bounce back a year. Um So yeah, i'm gonna go i'm gonna go with the panthers i think the panthers i do i think alanah I think alanah still make the playoffs there be one to wild card team is there be second and nfc south But um i got the panthers taking about one game i think i'll get them by one game Okay, okay. Um, I think if you want to make a run and you know for the falcons who are listening Because I know the falcons are listening if you want to make a run at the Super Bowl You gotta I think you gotta win your division first. Um, but yeah, I think I think Tampa wins division I think Tampa probably finishes 11 and 5 maybe falcons finish 10 and 6 Uh, the saints are gonna be in the mix because you just can't count out the same i it's gonna be a tough year for uh, For carolina, I think carolina and saints probably will do get out for last place in the division But I like um, I like uh, I like Tampa went into division man. It's like like ken said It's if they do it.

It's gonna be on james if they don't do it. It's gonna be on james Um, you know, so he's gonna be able to carry this team. I think they're poised on defense Um, there's there's they are so good on defense that if you know, if james doesn't turn the ball over and if they can control the clock They can win most games. So I think I can definitely see this team winning 11 games Um, I think the home south out for the probably win 10 maybe nine at the least Um, but I think they still get into playoffs, but um, but yeah, I got the uh, Tampa bay bucket near is winning the nfc South uh, now let's take it to the nfc north Uh, b is your division man who wins it and why?

Ain't my division Green bay green bay. I got a green bay man. Um, like people said about the nfc I'm gonna go with the best player in division and rogers. Um, they've been kind of holding down his division for kind of the almost similar to our Patriots been holding down the fce Um, I know bears kind of snuck in a couple times the one it but other than that it's been green bay green bay green bay Green bay so i'm still going down this because they got they got this kind of double check over there still throwing in the ball So you can't go wrong with that.

So I got green bay What about you fiefo? Before I say who or what team is going to win this division. Let's talk. Let's talk a little bit about mitch tubisky Yeah, let's do that because because who's this guy who's this guy because I know I questioned the crap out of that Yeah, I know everybody else.

Hey, I don't know. I'm not saying I'm a believer, but he came out there. He did his thing I can't I can't even lie. I can't even lie.

I like what you want to Hey, hey, hey, hey, I say before I saw him in a preseason till he did he did look pretty good Now again, I was against two and three's but he looked good of course No, look at the end of the day with that day last year in preseason wasn't against all of the starters all the time either now You know what I'm saying? Like like but we saw it, you know like talent is easy to see And it's so crazy because you didn't see this in college while i'm saying the NFL He looks like he's better than he wasn't I don't know that's just weird that doesn't typically happen like that But anyway, I would be man. You got this kind of double check you got the baddest man in the game right now in my opinion At the quarterback position. Um, you know that there's no thing we could make man.

There's no And you know what I was looking I've never been to an NFL game. I was looking for the Falcons and Packers tickets It's the second good look at that ticket this season Yeah, that's the Sunday night game open and it's the home opener on Sunday night in two weeks against the Packers And the reason is because air Rogers is worth the price of admission. Yes, sir Now that's a little too steep for me because I got at least two tickets and I ain't paying no I am and that but you know to be honest, I might be for the nose, please Show it I'm sorry. I'm not doing that.

I'm not doing that but I did Yeah, man that boy air Rogers man like any throw back leg like like he's like remember how breath barf is to throw Like the dumbest ball right but he had enough arms to know but air Rogers don't get it the air Rogers is the guy I don't think I've ever seen anything like air Rogers So to be honest and that's not taking away from pay man. It's already nothing like that But I think what it's all said and done and we're just talking quarter back play I don't know if I see better than air Rogers It is it is what about you can uh NFC uh NFC North. Excuse me. Who wins and why?

Oh, um Can can the Packers play defense? Oh, we still win the games with uh and Rogers Maybe win division on the grand rise for easier. So that's true. Uh-huh.

I see well Um, I mean look it's We don't have to look at the Packers ability to stop anybody right we can look at the Minnesota Vikings Sam Bradford detroit lions Matthew Stafford What in the world? Okay, Matthew Stafford who's already playing TSP is man I Can't what the hell you know of it people? They can't get a demo. They're having a good time You too Yeah, so Detroit Lions Matthew Stafford no running game.

Um, and then Chicago Bears Matt Glennon Slash Trubisky. You got to go with Rogers. I mean you got to go Rogers. I think Detroit compete But you know, I just without a solid running game I think there's only so much they can do and there's only so much staff can do by himself now Let's give the brother credit.

He's been getting it done by himself But um, I just we've seen it a mirror up duel. It hasn't been able to stay healthy and then when he's off the board You got Zack's inner if he's still there. I don't even know if he's still there The already and that's you know, it's just not enough man. That's not enough.

So um, so yeah and Eric Ybron He can't stay on the field. So um, but you know, I like the brother as the coach and you know, he's been successful But they just don't have the pieces yet. So I'm going with Rogers I gotta make it a four man. It's it's Rogers for me.

I think um, I am concerned about green bay's defense You know, but when you got a guy on the other side who can put up 30, you know, 30 every sunday Uh, you know, the only other team you probably have to worry about is that you know, the teams You know, the dalluses or the teams, you know, like maybe falcons who can put up a lot of points But the guy on the other side, you know, number 12 is gonna put up points. You already know that in and of itself So uh, and if he has the ball last he's probably going to score. Um, so I like green bay I'm interested to see what Detroit does, uh, particularly with Stafford and we talked about Stafford getting the new contract Uh, Minnesota and it's you know, like I said, it's a common theme really if you listen to this podcast, uh, you know, the quarterback situation I personally I'm not sold on brafford. I'm a huge for the state fan So I'll be rooting for dalvin cook to see what he does.

Uh, that defense in minnesota is always pretty stout. Um, but you know and bears I was encouraged by what I saw from tribisky again. Uh, I think they gave him like 14 million dollars to come to chicago, which you know They give you the money to come to chicago and then they turn around draft the quarterback.

I don't understand that but um, but yeah I think this is this is green bay's division, but you know, these teams in this division They you know, they when they play each other, you know, you can kind of throw out the record The bears can be oh and 15 and if they can beat the packers in the final game of the season that makes that season So, um, you know, look out for those games in particular when you get a chance to see them each sunday because you know, they love to play against each other beat up on each other Uh, now taking it to the nfc west, uh, amen. How do you see this thing shaking out? Can Uh, oh my god, man, um So the rams are out the 49ers are out and we love between seattle and arisona, uh, fish erl Um has been playing in the league so long that he he don't know that uh, braids and dreads and no longer in Um And he slows down as the year goes on we stay off seattle. We have russell wilson, uh pre-elite quarterback And but they have a running running game issue.

Thomas roles and he lacy. Um, that's not your man kin Hey, he likes cheeseburgers more than he like that ain't a full check man You know, I will say he has lost some weight Some weight Yeah, he has um, give me seattle man. You know what? I think there's something to players having an edge And while seattle has issues they played in two super bowls with russell wilson Um that most of that defense is the key components of that defense the key ingredients are still there Um, you know, so I think that matters I think they rotate other pieces to kind of spice it up a little bit But the the main parts they need to make that thing work are still there on defense and um You know the rest is up to russe chime ground And you know the rotating proper running backs they have to get the job done So I'll go with the pre-elite russell wilson Um for for this one because he's gonna show that he's ready to be mentioned along with with the rest of them this year It's gonna happen No doubt no doubt what about you people who wins the nfc west and why?

You know, I'm not gonna go into a big spiel about this one uh seattle because they're the best team most talent Uh got a super bowl quarterback got a head coach got the edge like kenset. They still got a they still got the staples on defense. So um, that's about it. Thank you What about you b?

Um, you know, they they still got the pedigree to get it done I think they still got the veteran players like people said they still got pretty much all they got together um in Uh, is he back my man? I think I don't think the cardinals are that far away Uh, this has become a pretty good rivalry between the two teams, but I think ultimately, um, you know, you got to kind of bet on karsen palmer And I think karsen palmer is probably on the you know downside of his career. Um, and I like I like the mentality of seattle I like you know They kind of understand that this could be their last run their last last push for greatness as far as you know, the playoffs and super bowl in the whole And as I mentioned earlier, you know, they had a tumultuous off season to say the least so Uh with rich or shumbit being you know, shopped or openly shopped around Um, I think the scene feels like, you know, they got a lot to prove and this is a team that we could see in men's order represent the NFC Uh, you know, in the super bowl. So I'm gonna seattle to win it all Um, before we get onto our super bowl picks, let me run on a couple of headlines Uh that made the sports news while we were away this past week. Uh, congratulations on serena Williams gave birth to a baby girl who i'm not mistaken So congrats to her Um, uh, florida state I was out for the season so now florida state which I think started off at number three in the eight people has dropped down to number 10 Their season is in jeopardy because uh odds are likely that you know, they probably will not win the ACC, uh, also in the college football Uh, you man, Josh Rosen, uh rallied Uh, UCLA over Texas A&M after being down.

I think it was 44 to 10 Uh, they come back and win 45 to 10 defeating Texas A&M in one of the great ones that we've been doing this for a while I think it was 44 to 10 Uh, they come back and win 45 to 10 defeating Texas A&M in one of the greatest uh games college football You'll see this season, uh, has happened this past weekend Also in the NBA NBA news, uh, you man, Isaiah Thomas man in this rumor that Isaiah Thomas May not be back until uh after the all star break Uh, we talked last week about how uh, the Cleveland Cavaliers were holding on and they wanted more picks to end up getting a second round pick I'm not mistaken And uh, we're on the street as the isa Thomas may not be back until after the all star break Uh, so it'll be interesting to see in the last one I have here, uh, you man, lonzo ball, lonzo ball, uh, you know Not really known for making controversial statements those usually made by his father lonzo ball told uh, or said said on his reality show that quote Uh, nobody listens to Nas that Drake and excuse me, uh, me goes and future other future of hip hop closure You didn't hear that? Uh, I don't think any of us got the picks last year Uh, so with that being said let's start it off fiefo who ends up in minnesota for the Super Bowl represent AFC and the NFC In the AFC man, I gotta go gotta go with time breaking the boys man Like they just they retool too much.

Um, and for the NFC Man, I think I'm gonna have to go the Seahawks. Okay. Okay. I think I'm gonna have to go to Seahawks Um, because like kens said, I think they have a self-awareness and they have a self- uh, uh, uh, uh Sense of urgency to make sure that they get back because they may not get back after this one if they make it Um, like like kens said, you know, and I think you said as well too Kyle.

Um, they're shopping Uh, richish ermine, you know, I'm saying they're in a they're in a state of super bowl or breakup That's where they are right now. So, you know, I I think this I think this is the last one I think this is the this is the last one and Russell was somebody bringing home No doubt. No doubt. No doubt.

What about you be uh, super bowl man who makes it in minnesota, man? Out of the AFC and the NFC? Yeah, that was my that was my pick two people. I was gonna Repeat the super bowl for eight nine.

We're gonna have a Seahawks and uh, pagers Do get out again for the for the rematch for the the crazy. Why did I throw the ball? On the one yard line? I think I think we're gonna have I think yeah, I definitely think we're gonna be heading towards a rematch of 49, uh, Yeah, exactly with people.

I mean, I got pagers and Seahawks Seahawks taking NFC pagers taking an AFC with pagers and stillers being AFC champs and uh, Seahawks, I got Seahawks in green bay and NFC champs. Okay. Okay. Okay.

Okay. What about you can't how do you see this thing playing out? Not like them. Um, I love So for the AFC give me the Pittsburgh Steelers fully loaded better secondary.

Oh, um, Give me Pittsburgh. I think they're gonna get it done. Um, so I like them in the NFC. Hey, man.

Hey Dak attack Dallas Cowboys I knew it. I know it. I know it. I just Hey, excuse him.

Infiltrate the camp. I'm sorry man. Hey, hey, hey man when Z come back He's gonna be pissed off. He's gonna run through everybody man.

I think the Cowboys go into Super Bowl man. I think they're gonna do it this year. Yep Dallas man And I know he didn't pick Dallas last year, but I want to say can and one of the previews just can't pick Dallas for some reason I don't know what the connection is, but I'll figure it out. I'll figure it out probably in the next couple hours.

I like, I was like, reluctantly, man, the team in Foxborough, New England. I think comes out of the AFC again. I just don't see anybody getting in their way. I think they lose a couple of games this year.

And I've seen some prognosticators saying that they thought the Patriots would go 16. They're not going with damn 16. They'll get the hell out here. But that being said, I like Pittsburgh to challenge them.

I like maybe Cincinnati if they can get their head out of the ass to challenge them. I like the Raiders to challenge them. I like the Texans, but I just I don't think at the end of the day, you give Bill Belichick a week to prepare. They'll have something for you.

And I just don't know what anybody in AFC can beat them. Coming in the NFC, I'm going Green Bay. I'm going Green Bay. I'm hooking my pick to the discount double check, man.

I think, again, as I mentioned earlier, I think the defense can be suspect that times. But I think Rogers has the capability of putting up enough points. I think if they run a ball and keep in mind last year, they had issues running the ball because they just didn't have enough running backs. They took one guy from like, why receiver?

And he was running the ball. But I like Green Bay. I like Green Bay and New England in the Super Bowl. I still understand it's got big Dallas, but I digress.

Nonetheless, man, it is time for closing thoughts. This is where we give our final thoughts on whatever, whenever. It'll just look parting shot as we close out the podcast. So if people would you got for your final thought?

Man, I can't wait to the NBA season start. We got lines on the ball, finally opening up his mouth and he's getting in trouble already. I can't wait to see what's in store. Yeah, man.

Looking forward to watching Triple G and Canelo Alvarez fight. They fight next Saturday and my dad is actually going to be in town that weekend too. Okay. So yeah, I'm just looking forward to seeing a true boxing match.

Like I said, I wasn't all excited about the Mayweather McGregor fight because I know how that was going in. But yeah, Canelo and Triple G, man, this is going to be really interesting. This is going to be Canelo never face power like Triple G and Triple G's never faced a technical boxer slas puncture like Canelo Alvarez. So this is because I think Danny Jacobs kind of showed the blueprint a little bit how to kind of slow down and confuse Triple G when he fought him because he could have had him.

I think Danny Jacobs, he could have put off the upset. But if I'm Canelo, I'll get a little bit of film on that and seeing how he can make put his own little spin on it. But yeah, it's going to be a death going to be interesting. I got Canelo just by his just by his wing despite.

But you know, we never know as a man, Triple G power is something else. And I don't think Canelo is never ever thought I'm like that before. So it's going to be interesting. No doubt, no doubt.

Definitely looking forward to that fight. What about you, what you got for your final thought? Well, they were beefing last year. Cam, we talked about on the show, lost his color, lost his way.

But he's back, man. He said some favorable things in favor of Colin Kaepernick. And he basically might have said that it's unfair that Colin Kaepernick isn't on a team and that he's better than a lot of the quarterbacks in the league. So I just want to give that brother his do-man for sticking up for another brother and probably coming to the realization after last year that he is indeed black.

And that is not going to go away. So, salute to Colin Kaepernick. Cam Newton. Welcome back, my brother.

My final thought, man, takes it to Washington, DC, the nation's capital. As many of you listening know, maybe you don't know, I am the proud product of an HBCU South Carolina State University. I play football there. And we've talked about on this podcast several different occasions about how sometimes HBCUs have to play these bigger schools to get a check.

Well, the HBCU that is located in our nation's capital, a school by the name of Howard University, had to play a game. They played a game this past Saturday and they were playing against a bigger school. And the check was for $600,000. Now, we've seen situations where schools like my alma mater last year played Clemson and got beat 59 nothing.

We saw situations where a school like Vamview, a couple of years ago played, I think it was Ohio State and they lost like A4 to 7 or something like that. Well, Howard goes out to UNLV to play them. And they are a 45-point underdog. And our strange thing happens, Howard actually beat UNLV.

This became the biggest, based on Point Spread, the biggest upset in NCAA football history. And they won 43 to 40. And again, because of the Point Spread, it was the greatest victory for any school, as far as the HBCU. If you bet $100 on Howard that night, you would have won $55,000.

So where it ties into what Ken just said is the quarterback for Howard is a guy by the name of Kailin Newton. And that is the younger brother of Cam Newton. So allow me to give a big shout out, even though I really don't like Howard, because they're our rival. But a big shout out and a big, you know, much respect to Howard University for going out to UNLV and getting to win.

And let it serve and notice to other schools that just because they're willing to pay you a check to come play means that you should actually come to play and Howard did. Congrats to Howard for getting to win. And win for them is a win for all HBCU schools. And we definitely appreciate that.
