2019 Philadelphia Eagles Season Preview (PST Show #329)

from The Philadelphia Sports Table | Philly Sports News & Views · host The Philadelphia Sports Table

The 2019 Philadelphia Eagles regular season is upon us! In just a few days the Birds will square off against Washington at The Linc in their first real game of the season. Let's put the preseason to rest because the games that matter are just about here! Joining us this week to dive into our Eagles Season Preview is Michael Kist, cohost of the Kist and Solak Show on BGN Radio and contributor at BleedingGreenNation.com. We're talking offense, defense and special teams! Plus, we get into our NFL division winners and playoff predictions after the interview. But first, we discussed if we should hold out hope that the Phillies could make it to the postseason. (approx. 7:05)We then dove into some 76'ers talk as Furkan Korkmaz has been having a nice looking summer with the Turkish National Team, and the front office may be looking to bring in some shooters before the preseason. (approx. 11:00)From there, we talked about how the Flyers will be opening Training Camp in about a week, and with the new coaching staff which players we'll be keeping our eyes on. (approx. 17:10)This week on the Highbrow Segment, as the football season is upon us, we discussed which sport has now truly become America's pastime. Is it still baseball? Maybe football? Perhaps basketball? (approx. 24:00)Then on the Lowbrow Segment, we dove into "Cohost Questions" where we randomly asked each other anything, sports-related or not.(approx. 38:10)What we're throwing down on the Table this week is our Eagles Season Preview, an in-depth and analytical interview with Michael Kist from the Bleeding Green Nation family. We first analyzed the running back position, looked at Miles Sanders to gauge expectations, and how much of a real factor Jordan Howard may or may not be in this Eagles offense. We also discussed Carson Wentz's pocket management versus his pocket escapability, and the balance between both we might expect this year. Who is primed for a breakout year on the defense? Will Zach Ertz be the same type of impact receiver as he was last season? All of this and much more during our interview this week! (approx. 51:05)Then we finished the show by laying out our predictions not just for the Eagles season, but for each NFL division. We also gave our playoff and Super Bowl predictions as well. (approx. 1:11:05)
