In this final podcast episode for 2019, Teri will recap what has been going on in the Alexa in Canada community and brand over the past year. Teri will highlight all that has happened with the Alexa in Canada Podcast and Alexa in Canada Facebook community, and also thank you the listeners for your support. Enjoy!The Highlights:#1: Alexa in Canada PodcastEpisodes are currently released on a weekly basis, and Teri had the opportunity to interview a lot of great and interesting thought leaders throughout the year.You can check out the podcast's top ten most popular episodes at AlexainCanada.ca/106Teri also did an episode on the top ten Amazon Alexa skills that are available in Canada.#2: The Voice in Canada flash briefing It has been running consecutively for 681 days, and Teri is so pleased that listeners continue to tune in and send in a lot of great feedback.The flash briefing has been the number one rated flash briefing and number one rated new skill in Canada. It reached the 100 review milestone on the Amazon Alexa Skill Store, which was a remarkable fete. Teri launched a gamified version of the flash briefing and it had tremendous results in terms of the engagement of listeners. It was called Crack the Code, and it involved listening to the flash briefing to get a clue from Teri that one would then embark on trying to solve. They would then go to an Amazon Alexa skill called Crack the Code, open it, talk to Alexa, and try to figure out what the riddle/clue answer was. There was a new clue every day. It went on for two weeks. If one could collect the different pieces of the final code, then one could enter to win a whole host of prizes.Crack the Code had a set of sponsors and it was a great success. There were over 500 people who played the game and it got very wonderful feedback.On January 15th 2020, Teri will be launching Crack the Code 2020. It’s available at AlexainCanada.ca/CracktheCodeProject VoiceTeri has been nominated for four awards at the event in January 2020. They include Voice AI Commentator of the Year, Flash Briefing of the Year, Healthcare Voice Developer of the Year, and the Healthcare Voice Developer of the Year.A lot of that has to do with Teri’s other brand, Voice First Health.Amazon in CanadaAmazon continues to lead and innovate in voice technology, and in 2019, they released a whole bunch of different new Echo products like the Echo Show 5, Echo Show 8, Echo Flex, Echo Dot with Clock, and Echo Studio.There are a number of Echo products that have been announced in the US that are not yet available in Canada like the Echo Ring, Echo Buds, and Echo Glasses. Exciting Things Coming Up in 2020As of January 1st, there’s a special article that has been picked up by a particular social media outlet all about the Crack the Code game and flash briefings, and how to use that in a voice marketing funnel.Teri has some talks lined up and he will be sharing a lot of content from the talks, particularly at Project Voice where he will be giving three talks. The Alexa in Canada Community It has grown immensely to about 1,900 members.Members have discussions and answer questions about using Alexa.
