The Holy Spirit wants to develop your soul, that way, you will prosper and manifest things that no man has ever seen or heard. Your spirit is created perfect but your soul is not perfect. It is in a developmental stage.  The soul goes through progressive salvation, taking the shape of the spiritual if properly done. James 1;21 ESV: "Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls." It is also called renewal of the mind - Romans 12.2 NIV "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will."
