We read of a specific word (v.6), given to a specific person (Zechariah), to be imparted to another person (Zerubbabel), for a specific purpose (building the Temple). The uniqueness of THAT message to Zerubbabel through Zechariah has applications for you and I in 21st century. Have you noticed, as a leader (church or otherwise), a parent, an employer, a teacher, or a politician… how difficult it is to work with people? To motivate others to do something they DON’T want to do; to enthuse others where enthusiasm lacks; to draw commitment from those who profess commitment but, for whatever reason, don’t follow through?
