2022-23 Premier League Preview with Charlie Mullan

from The Big D Podcast

In this episode, British football betting Charlie Mullan and I predict the 2022-23 Premier League Season, which begins tomorrow. First, we look at the Manchester City, which won last season's PL by one point over Liverpool. Over the Summer, City added one of football's most exciting talents in former Dortmund striker Erling Haaland. Last season, Haaland scored 29 goals after a 41-goal campaign in 2020-21. Together with Kalvin Phillips, City has added two key pieces to a team led by Phil Foden, Kevin De Bruyne, Ruben Dias, and Ederson. Falling just one point shy of City, Liverpool fell just short of becoming the first English side to ever win the quadruple. Liverpool signed Darwin Nunez while star man Sadio Mane left for Bayern Munich. We discuss Liverpool's chances of unseeding City at the top of the Premier League table. Mohamed Salah will look to lead Liverpool on another year of trophy success. After hitting the Northwest, we head to London. Tottenham Hotspur is next on our minds. After finishing fourth, Spurs added Richarlison and Ivan Perisic among a busy spending spree in North London. Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane will look to lead Spurs in a quest for silverware. After the Spurs chat, we look at Big D's Chelsea. I stated how I do not have a clue over what Chelsea's season will go. Despite finishing third in the EPL and runners-up to Liverpool in two major cup competitions, Chelsea's transfer window has not gone well. I also explain my pessimism in USMNT star Christian Pulisic's chances to star on a regular basis for Chelsea this coming season. I think Pulisic is more of a bench player in London. In the meantime, Charlie tests my Premier League knowledge with a couple of fascinating questions throughout this episode. We also try to answer with Erik ten Hag, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Manchester United this coming season. I state how United reminds me of a soap opera. We then look into which three sides will be relegated in May. Charlie believes Bournemough, Fulham, and Leeds United will drop to the Championship. I predict Bournemouth, Fulham, and Everton will all be relegated. We then switch to who wins the PL and finishes in the top-four Champions League places. Charlie's picks are Man City, Liverpool, Spurs, and Chelsea. I predict, City, Liverpool, Spurs, and Arsenal.
