The US war on drugs is clearly a failure. I'm Peter Serefine with today's Liberty Minute. The US "war on drugs" was declared by Nixon in 1971.  In 1971 the US had 3.3 deaths per 100,000 people.  Last year over 100,000 people overdosed in the United States, or 28 per 100,000.  This year is expected to be worse. Drug overdose is now the leading cause of death for Americans between 18 and 45 years old. I think it is safe to say our federal government has failed us again.  In fact, the government is giving aid and comfort to the enemy by relaxing laws, handing out Crack pipes, and open borders. Maybe the $5 billion per month our government is spending on the Ukrainian war would be better spent keeping our own young people alive here at home.
