For those who live on a fixed income or live paycheck to paycheck, paying more for gas is more than just uncomfortable. It can mean missed meals or prescriptions don't get filled. Yesterday Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg, said “The more pain we are all experiencing from the high price of gas, the more benefit there is for those who can access electric vehicles,” That is absolutely no comfort to the poor. Most people can't afford to pay $10,000 more for an electric vehicle, according to Kelley Blue Book.
