Didn't America learn anything from McCarthyism? I'm Peter Serefine with today's Liberty Minute. From 1950 to 1954, Senator Joseph McCarthy led congressional hearings and investigations searching for communism. With little evidence, Senator McCarthy ruined careers with wild accusations and televised congressional hearings. That should sound familiar.  Since 2016, Representative Adam Schiff has been doing the same thing, except instead of looking for communists, he is looking for anyone who supports Trump or believes in a small limited government. Schiff's hatred of Trump and love of cameras has become a McCarthy-istic crusade. Schiff recently went so far as to suggest an investigation into a sitting Supreme Court Justice and subpoena his wife. That is too far. That is a direct attack on the separation of powers. Schiff has jumped the shark and is no longer doing anything but partisan grandstanding.
