Please, gently, break our false idols of clay.And remind me once again that why I can't be where you are, is that what that really means is me wanting to be God, and wanting to control everything,  and to decide for myself what standards of good are, and decide for myself what I deserveAnd remind me that I am not God. I did not create nor sustain the universe. I cannot control other people and too often I cannot even control myself and too often I have willfully chosen to place myself apart from you, to keep you at a safe distance, to not trust in you. Please remind me again of my wrong ideas about love and that getting love means getting what I want and giving love means giving what I want to give. Please help all of us to reset ourselves to your standard of willing the good of the other. I pray that you would lead all of us to a deeper relationship and knowledge and experience and to fully trust and fully follow you. Jesus, thank you for all of the secret and unseen ways that you are at work in each of our lives.
