We won. I have a good one. That's only happened one of the five of the three was more energy championship game. Even what's going on?
Five of the ten percent. They got a hell of a team. They call blazing. What up everybody?
What up? What up? What up? What up?

We have a lot to get into, man. It was an NFL season. My time in the show. Yeah.
Yeah. My time in the show. Yes. Let's put it up your intro kid.
No, man. We just talked about how long I've been doing this shit, bro. Since the late 90s. I'm about to late 90s.
I was like, I was like, that's my bad, man. My father. Well, all right. Well, Nick is here, y'all.
I mean, Spike's takes gonna be better today. Oh, hey, hey, hey, if he goes there, Spike is taking your spot, bro. That's why I'm glad y'all to show. It's a lead-roids room somewhere.
I'm holding it down for you, man. Oh, the name is Dreja. Oh, okay. I just respect.
What's your name? Dreja? Oh, okay. I was like, what?
I was like, what? Yeah, I didn't do that. You were about to say better when you're done with that bitch, baby. I tried not to say that word.
I told you that word, actually. I don't refer to women like that. Yeah. But anyway, so yeah, man.
Yeah, it's gonna be if Nick here, then that lets you guys know it's gonna be somewhere in a field, but we do have something to be a stuff to get into. So do not worry. Who said that? I saw somebody mention that.
Samuelo Cosanto said that. Samuelo, mention something about UFC. We didn't watch it. We didn't show.
We didn't show. We didn't show. We didn't show, buddy. We didn't show.
It was a good fight. It was a good fight. We got to Samuel. We got to Samuel.
Anyway, so yeah. So let's. Manny, maybe hopping. I don't know, Manny.
Manny ain't coming. He never did. But I need to talk to him about no-no MLB recaps, pre-nosed back. So man, let's go ahead and jump into it though.
NFL free agency kick off yesterday. The man in chat was going crazy. The Dennin sports chat was going crazy. At one point, I was here.
I was working on the Ismae song episode. Let's drop it tomorrow. Patreon is already out for you guys. But don't go watch it now.
Wait until you finish the show. I go back to my phone. People are showing this. 240-something messages.
Wow. I took a screenshot. I was like, what the hell is going on? What?
Everything. I'm like, what the hell? Run, she made no-down sense. It's press.
You ain't get those notifications during the NC's internment for damn show. No, you don't. You don't. You don't.
We talk to NFL football. Yeah, well, we don't have it. There isn't a 2K league. So I guess not.
But yeah. But a lot of it was centered around, well, not a lot of it, but there was a good portion of it centered around this. The first question with Kirk Cousins. Coming to Atlanta, we are based in Atlanta.
There are some Falcons fans in our matting chat. So they had a lot to say about it. And so yeah, man, let's talk about it. Kirk Cousins, we'll go to the Falcons in a four year, $180 million deal with $90 million guaranteed.
Does this mean that it's a lot for the Falcons to be a playoff team in 2024? Not a ritter is no longer the starting quarter. If I look at you, I didn't add that part. Oh, because last week you said something different.
Well, then I say last week, I proposed Kirk Cousins going to Atlanta and YouTube guys. YouTube guys. Swabia, Vindal, it's just the field was the right choice. 100%.
Yeah, just because the Falcons made the decision doesn't mean I have to agree with the Falcons decision. No, I don't think that it's horrible but before you get into it, I just want to say my point was that nobody else thought that Justin Fields was good other than you two guys. That's why I'm trying to get away. That's all I'm saying.
We talked about the same squad ahead. That's really great. So it's obviously, you know, that's what I'm saying. Like just the place in Chicago.
Well, here's the thing at the end of the day, like I said last week, I feel given up, you know, some lower draft picks for a guy that has the potential to be a 10 years start, I'm not saying that he is, I'm just saying he has the potential especially with the weapons that Atlanta has. Now they go to Kirk Cousins right what that does is saying, hey, he's in the Dak Prescott class of quarterback. He's in that upper mid tier class of quarterback, you know, he's going to be because this is like 13, you know what I'm saying? Um, what Kirk Cousins is a lot like Tony Romo is not if he makes the bad players when he makes the bad play, he makes it typically at a time where it's hard to overcome that, you know what I'm saying?
So it is what it is Kirk Cousins is a very solid quarterback. Is he other world? We know, but I think it does help these Falcons weapons a lot themselves because we saw how pits have two down years, you know what I'm saying? Um, who's the light skin?
Um, I was getting confused with Olavi, but I know a lot of these records London, Drake London, you know what I'm saying? We haven't seen him really break out, but John wasn't used properly last year. So Kirk Cousins is the perfect quarterback to come in and make sure that all of these guys get touches in, you know, he is a pretty accurate quarterback. So these things are going to help them.
And then also the defense played a lot better last year. So we're looking at them improving year over year. It's going to be a very solid team. Now, again, I still think Justin Fields gives you more potential.
There's more ceiling there. We know what Kirk Cousins is and Kirk Cousins in this division, the way that everybody else is currently positioned, they can make the playoffs. They can win the division next year. So I still think it wasn't the right choice.
I think you should have went with the younger guy to pair with these guys. I understand the choice. I think they went with Justin Fields. Yeah, absolutely.
He has way more upside. He has a higher ceiling. We've seen him flash that that spark. You think about the sparks that he has, you know, the magic they had back when you had Vicka quarterback, he's not big, but the magic they had on that squad and with the weapons around him that they would have to pair that together and let them grow together would have been ideal.
That would have been the ideal situation, in my opinion. You take Kirk Cousins. How old are we getting Kirk Cousins? And how is he?
36? 36. Sorry for yourself. Coming off of 20CL.
Midway through the season. We don't know what we're going to get. This is old man coming in. We don't wheel him out there.
What are you going to do? You know, so we really don't know. You're just saying that because you like Justin Fields. I'm saying it because we know what Kirk Cousins is.
You know what Kirk Cousins is. You're not money and you're spending your money. Yes. You're going to go for the quarterback as well, proving that someone who's won three games per year over the last three years.
Not for somebody. Not $100 million to somebody that's winning three games per year. How many games is this Kirk Cousins won? One.
How's he proving? My point is what has he proven? You say he's a pro. We talk about it.
We talk about it a lot of them, right? Yeah. I just expect the Falcons fans out here. But if they get to the playoffs and they win one playoff game, they cool.
Yeah. I mean, talk about having a winner. It's difficult at any age to come back from ACL. That alone, 36 years old.
Because it's not running around like doing wild stuff though. He got he has the knowledge of being a top quarterback like you said, same to you with that. And if I have a Drake London and if I have the tight end, what's the name? It's a company right now.
Cal Pits and I got D-Zon like, yeah, it made perfect sense. I got Kirk Cousins and let him dink and dunk his way and maybe we get a Super Bowl. It made like at the very least at any NFC South, they're going to win at a Visc. See, hold on.
You got to pay six to the whereas. Okay. You get to dunk and Kirk Cousins was beyond the thinking. Like bro, he was throwing down the field to Addison and just the deficit.
What are you talking about? Stop being disrespectful. Okay. I will give you that.
You're right. I will receive that. He's going to come in and make this offense a lot more performance oriented than it's going to feel like a professional football. Exactly.
On 36, you can get that 30 six. They have multiple options now that they can call. We can do a screen. We can throw the Drake.
We can like, there's a lot of different. This is somebody who can come in and run this offense. It's not a wrong decision. It's not a wrong decision.
I think that they were several right decisions. I was a wrong decision. That's why I disagree. That's why I was talking about a 36 year old veteran with one leg.
One leg. And I don't care what you were. I don't care what you were saying. I don't care what you were saying.
We can say in pocket pass, but you still need your leg. You still need to be voting the Green. You don't know that with like Aaron Rodgers act like he was coming back in weeks 15 from the same fucking injury. That was just like, you know, they put in Kirk Cousins and Aaron Rodgers and this thing.
I'm not saying that. I'm saying that same injury. Luke started this whole thing off saying I want my flowers. He was winning.
He was winning. He was winning. He was saying they make the right decision. I'm like, we're the right community.
I think with the decision of, to me, I don't like the move nor the money. But for Raheem Morris, he's doing, he's playing scared. And I don't, and I don't blame him for that because black coaches in the league, they don't get multiple opportunities as head coaches. The first time he got screwed over because he didn't have a quarterback.
So I think he was in his mind being like, I'm not going to bet my career right now on justice fields. You know what I'm saying? But if he was saying the not wrong decision, getting Kirk Cousins and surrounding him with the talent that is already there in Atlanta, make anybody would say that's a decent decision. That's a decent decision.
Now, because of what we know about Kirk Cousins, he ain't shit. That's why we feel a certain way. But as far as his stats say, he is at least going to elevate this offense to top 10 or top 15 instead of bottom 15 that's been the last two seasons when it comes to passing lines. Now they said they got a top five offensive line or a top eight offensive line in Atlanta.
I'll, you know what I'm saying? We'll see the season. But everything else is kind of there. You know what I'm saying?
As far as like, if you want to try to win whatever you can now. But I do agree with Shelton that Justin Fields would have made the most sense as far as like if you want to have this team progress in a smart way, then yeah, you would get Justin Fields put him in this system. He's about as old as everybody else that you got there as far as he'll keep players. And if you can make him pop at least, I mean, he should really ask him for nine to 10 games in this division.
He ain't asking you to get 12 to 14 like we may have seen more for in the end of the season. Wayne has just a fields ever won nine to 10 games. When has Kirk Cousins done anything in the polls? Because it's two years ago, had the number one C for the, who would he lost in the first round?
That being said, that never happened for Justin Fields. No, if the Falcons look at it like, okay, we only want to get to the playoffs. The answer still makes Justin Fields because he averages three wins per year over the last three years. Okay, I think that I think two things can be true.
Justin Fields average three games per year. His career so far, but Kirk Cousins got out due by Daniel Jones in the last two years. Man, what's worse to you? What's worse to you?
What's worse to you? Daniel Jones ain't going to be on the team next season. You know what I'm saying? That's still going to take the fact that you got Justin Fields.
If you are a GM Nick Shelton and y'all are spending all money and it's saying, okay, why got this dude Kirk Cousins who I know can win 14 to 15 games in the regular season, especially in a week NFC South, I can take him or I can take this dude who struggled with the Bears and won three games per year over the last three years. Who am I going to take? Just because you don't want to keep my job or not. Right.
I think it's her cousins can win those games. That's why I say it's scare money. He wants to ask that to his career saying like, look, if I can win 10 plus games right now, that looks good on my career and I made the right decision that we're going to play off. With Justin Fields, you don't really know what you're going to get in this season because you have a lot to make up for because obviously the Bears didn't do any job.
You know what you're doing? It just feels real three wins. I'm saying the ceiling, the floor is there, but the ceiling is hiding because especially like with Sean Sibra, he's 35 plus coming off ACL in a league that right now is all about the running quarterback. You know what I'm saying?
Like the teams that we actually talk about competing, they got quarterbacks that can move. So that's why I'm saying. You're not betting your jobs on it. Justin Fields, silly.
I understand why I'm wrong. He is it. You're smarter than that. You're smarter than Nick.
I'm not doing it. Like I said, you got young talent. You put that young quarterback in there. You know, one of the legs for our city, bro.
So you got all those weapons, including him with his legs. He can get the ball. We know he can throw off. We saw what DJ Morgan did.
If all the Blake came to USA, your job is determined only if we win nine games next year or not, you can have Jesse Fields or you can have Kirk Cousins. You're not taking Jesse Fields. Give me one with two legs right now. Are you not taking Jesse Fields?
Are they going to be a playoff team? This thing? Yeah. They still can win the playoffs.
I mean, yes, yes. They are going to win the NFC South. You got the Saints. You got the books and you have the Panthers.
The Panthers. Yes. The Falcons are the best team in the division right now. But I'm saying the boxer in the boxer back.
Go ahead, Nick. I'm sorry. I'm saying like the reason why I don't really like it is because it's the money more so than the Kirk Cousins and what he's at this age and of course come off ACL. Yeah, that's fine.
We've seen quarterbacks come back from injuries like that. And he's not like you said, but he's not a runner. So you don't really have to worry about that too much. But it's just the 45 million dollars a year.
You know what I'm saying for basically a desperate team that wants to win a shitty division. You know what I'm saying? It's kind of like Kirk Cousins, to be honest, is overqualified for this job. And then you know what I'm saying?
Like he shouldn't. This says a lot about Kirk Cousins in his career. But Minnesota was like, look, bro, like you said, we won all these games with you. You want us to play off game against Drew Brees?
Yeah. We ain't trying to pay that much. So you get the fuck out. Minnesota has a quarterback right now.
Many can go out there and practice on the refracts. But Minnesota doesn't have, you can't tell me the quarterback. It makes sense to go off what you said. It makes sense to go off, because we rebuild.
They know if Kirk Cousins is there, they're going to win eight, nine games for years. Like that's just going to happen, because he's that good of a quarterback top 13 or whatever you guys said. If I got one of those quarterbacks on my team going into the season each year, I'm going to win eight or nine games. That's a given.
And the Falcons are looking at a like, okay, eight or nine games that will win me the NFC South. They don't want it because they've had it for the last couple of years I know where it's up, you know beating the saints and stuff like that So that's probably why we've been there We've done this I give you 45 in a year to do the same thing We've been doing bro peace like the Vikings were smart for doing it But the Falcons gonna be a fact I mean what do we really expect from the Falcons though? If they give a playoff win in the first round they're gonna be cool with that all the Atlanta fans and the Fours that's perfect That's what I mean for the Falcons. I think it's worth 45 million to unlock all those weapons They drive away some way they work exactly do I need to sign cowpits again is design as good as we think he is No, guys can play exactly got a quarterback to get them to ball It can really show what this office can do then they can decide okay What we need to do it quarterback much car cousins call But we're saying that is if it's a guarantee that they're gonna be in the playoffs in the business So so you forget what Tampa did last year Tampa came out of the way I'm not betting on Baker may feel over her cousins Yeah, I mean I'm not a huge They could have some consistency being in the same system you resign Mike Evans that's even a lot of confidence right now And they got a playoff win So Go ahead many I'm a lot of these young towns that we've spent a lot of capital draft happen one of the last couple years So they felt like they needed to do something to unlock these weapons Do we go out and draft the quarterback and then go through the trials and tribulations of drafting the quarterback?
We get someone that's experienced and they figured listen. Let's go out. Let's get cur cousins It's not a forever deal. It's a it's a reasonably short enough deal where in a few years they can possibly get out of it So they figured you know why not why not and time will tell I mean I listen I think you look at it like look we got a little game at this way We got to win some games So why not get a guy that very least is competent at the position gives us an opportunity to go out every time he goes out He gives us a reasonable opportunity to wave a book is it great?
No his agents versus his agent supposed to be in the whole thing Because his agent is the goat. Let's just put it that way Like they need to do what they need to do and we'll see we'll see what happens I think if you're the Falcons you're in an easy enough division where I feel like you could take that versus a winnable enough division Where you're like listen Tampa, I mean Tampa's no no super bowl contender I'm supposed to be afraid of make a make feel and says that was supposed to be afraid of their car like Right show we don't even know the play like I feel like if you're Atlanta You're like if you're Arthur Blake Arthur Blake's I get in the other either So he's like yo, I ain't trying to sit through three four years of possibly seeing what young quarterback possibly do I'm trying to see if maybe we get lucky get like catch like in the bottle the NFC is much easier than the FC Why not take this opportunity? It's a big swing. It's a high-risk high reward move But I feel like they're in that position with anything to kind of move Let me ask you this man.
If you were to GM and Arthur Blake came to you and asked you to risk your job for The upside of Justin Fields or the consistency of Kirk cousins Which one would you decide going with the consistency of Kirk cut? That's because I don't know what it feels like everybody keeps telling me. I just think thank you Justin feels just like that car that no one wants to buy yet. That's a Every sale you know just buy it.
It's always it. Oh, I'm telling you bro. It's fast. It does this is I'm like, okay But why hasn't anybody body up?
Like why is it like if I'm the GM of the Falcons? I'm like perfect And then he's been with the Bears for what four years perfect in that you have you seen Kirk cousins car facts? Thank you You said we important games Backers like No, yeah, let's look well, yeah, just we know just feel big game problems in college Hey, man, can you check and see if you have some headphones also? Yeah, all right, let's move on to the next one.
Oh, these old here quarterbats, bro Man, they they they get the it's like reruns Russ Russell Wilson Going to play for the Steelers on a one year deal on a veteran veteran minimal salary the Broncos will pay him the rest of his 30-plus He did that's a stick in it to man. Give me two dollars. They can't arrest them Yeah, so does this make sense what a stealers when they got Kenny pickett? Yes Cuz can you pick it ain't he ain't doing number throwing picks?
That's what he's going on Can you pick it is not the guy we've seen it already Huh, mason Rudolph not either Shit, oh That makes me play good on the street man. He ain't the man. He's a mason. Wow, but at the end of the day Russell Wilson still got a little bit of gas left in the take and I think we saw what he is and what he isn't is Russell Wilson a culture center.
No, he's not that guy But the Steelers already have a culture and it starts with my time We know what Steelers football is that's always gonna be consistent But we also know what Russell Wilson is when you get him in the right situation allowing the ad lib a bit We saw how good he played this year 26 touchdowns eight interceptions if I'm not mistaken, you know what I'm saying? Um better understand that But at the end of the day if my time it could go out here when we can't pick it have a winning season Imagine what he could do with Russell Wilson because that's definitely an elevation at that position So to me solid fit doesn't make him super both contenders not necessarily, but it's also a team I wouldn't want to see down the stretch either. We said the exact same thing about Russell Wilson before he went to Denver We would say in Denver, but we knew that it wasn't could have had you we so we knew that after after the first game We came on this telecast while you were sitting in the net chair right over there And we talked about how trash but then it was and I'm not disagreeing with that I'm just saying expectations as far as I feel like people think the Steelers are one quarterback away from competing a suitable and Defensively they got a lot of dudes. They just added Patrick Queen But my thing is offensively they just lost a wasn't a fiance Johnson So they're probably going to draft and try to get another receiver Which is a receiver heavy jack draft so they can do well in that but to me with Russ where we're He's not going to an easy situation like there's expectations like he's on a one-year deal Which means that he's on he's fighting for his career right now because if he doesn't work in Pittsburgh Can't I know where he's gonna go after that?
Um And he's in the heart of it. He's in the hardest division football Let's be honest and him being and him being added just made even worse because you got the MVP You got a quarterback who went to the school or went to the two AFC championships the last three four seasons And then you got a Cleveland team that can be sneaky or they can do something no matter any season now with any quarterback I I think it was a good move for Pittsburgh because obviously upgrade over Kenny Pickett Which I think they reached on him anyway when they drafted him, but I don't know what else to say outside It's a it's a great out of shitball quarterback Yeah, I don't I don't think I should love Russ way was that bro, you know What is gonna get you maybe a playoff game? Okay, that's great. That's okay fine That's good, but you know you don't want to screw up with Russell Wilson.
I mean Russell Russell's done I don't know what we keep playing this game. I'm a you think No, you think Russ can go you think Russ like let's say let's say for example Let's like can't say they went their first round game and they faced the Chiefs in the second round You think the Pittsburgh Steelers or Russell Wilson can be the the Kansas II Chiefs No, because they got my homes that That's a loaded question I ain't saying that they can beat the truth But I but what I would say is if you told me that the Steelers caught fire this season and they went 11 and Seven and they got a first round playoff home game and then they got the momentum going into the second game It's gonna be a close game against my homes absolutely. I can see it What's the most of them Russell Wilson's not he's not trash and again They still have my time and I think what they're gearing up for with signing Russell Wilson and signing Patrick Queen as far as I'm Like they got a strong squad issue. They defense was solid as hell last year They can make one last run and if you tell me this one last one get them to the AFC Championship game Maybe the Chiefs don't make like maybe something happens But I I wouldn't be fully object to the fact that the Steelers make a run with Russell Wilson issue because it ain't like he's up last year I'm not picking Russell Wilson against Patrick my homes however if someone had a way it makes sense again I think it's again.
I want to get you up to my thing is this the whole point of getting Russell Wilson with the Pittsburgh It's desperate for not only playoff success but deep playoff success and this is going off with the residue from Big Ben and the 3b's that they had with AB and Llevion Bell like people are still upset about their air football then big bands transition hasn't been great at all I eat any picket and now you bring a Russell Wilson who has the play off of who won a Super Bowl and has the playoff Success or at least experience Pittsburgh is expecting like okay. We got this monster of a defense. We just added a couple more pieces Yes, nigga We want you to see against you. We want to see all against Josh Allen against Joe Burrow against Lamar Jackson against Patrick over homes We want to see you at least be one of them niggas and hopefully get us to what at least a I think I see traffic ship is their expectations for this season otherwise The way that they're built in the fact that they brought a Russell Wilson means that you're competing for you're not the favorite right the Ravens We're there caring out are more favorites than First of all first of all you off the camera They should be making when he came out their car.
So that's how you know what your team is like At the end of the day can I think that is where can compete. They're not the favorites the favorites are reserved for about four to five teams And that's it Take AOC championship. I don't agree with the AOC championship I mean listen if you're the Steelers it's kind of similar to Falcons man It depends on where you at in your franchise, right? If you were telling me right now everybody always complains about oh well This quarterback stinks.
Let's get another one. Well, where are you finding another one? You know, it's like it's very easy to say okay, can you pick it sucks? Let's find another quarterback.
Well, who's the other quarterback now? If you tell me I'm getting my hands on Patrick my home is a Josh Allen Oh, that's one thing but if you're not those guys aren't available to you and Pittsburgh's not in a position We're gonna draft say a you know a Michael Pennics or someone like that that you have to start thinking outside the box And I think it's I think it's for a look at it as look we need to win some games All right, we need to get a guy in here that is a competent quarterback a guy that can win us games Allah similar to a Kirk cousins I think they took a shot on a Russell Wilson a guy was gonna be humbled Who's probably on his last legs if you look at his numbers lastly he wasn't that terrible that he honestly wasn't that bad like I have a lot of things to say in the situation endeavor Sean Payton aka the doc rivers of the NFL So that's great I'm not making a hot take like let's be is anybody gotten more wind out of one Super well title than Sean Payton But another conversation for another day. Yeah, I'll be on a Russell Wilson Russell Wilson can still manage and win you games now AFC championship games. I don't I'm not just what's the expectations many where we going here?
The expectation is to win 10 or 11 games and I think they have the defense and the offensive skill power available to win 10 or 11 games What's there man from there from there you take your shot in the postseason? See y'all put them in the point. They'll be fighting to stay out of date They're basement in the division because all the teams around First of all are we sure that the Browns are gonna redo or gonna duplicate what they did last year again the Browns got stronger How they brought in That's the Side of next year they say no his cap hit they say it is too much this year And they don't know if they unless he's willing to renegotiate his deal they may not break him back any Any any any got your own beatings so like at this point like we can't even count on Nick show right now Even when they tell you talking about the 13 that's a 13 and then who was why I see really just sign it they sign another There's not a Listen if you're the Steelers you look at it Like look this year we won what 10 games Mason Rudolph and we gave the the media beloved Buffalo bills a close game in the postseason You feel like we get if we get we get close game They had a chance in the game before quarter. That's all you want right is a chance to win a game in the fourth And I got a chance of Holly Berry, but it ain't that big of a chance Listen listen listen.
Listen worry about T Higgins's contract, but Now but if you're the Steelers man I think you look at it like look we just need a quarterback that can just play the position Competently and we have a defense that can win us games and win its championship and there everybody I think you agree the Steelers defense is a championship level defense So they just need Russell Wilson to be Semi-competent which I think all of us can agree that he is at the nothing worse competent at the position Wait, wait till you tell me it's about this ride is over the first time he say Steelers Let's ride is over with and it doesn't look like a draft of the quarterback later on in the draft either That was what I was gonna I was gonna get at many is what you just said and when you talk about my critics That's a realistic type thing where you can draft a quarterback and still bring them in because he's on a one-year deal correct? So you're bringing your quarterback in the future I said again, I said it cost him nothing to do is right when you're doing like two million dollars He is a bust and we all the wrong about what we think Russell was gonna do is still on cost of shit Yeah, I can still bench him and put what make some move off or But the thing is the thing is like, okay, we know it was a good business move Let's talk about the reality then he was talking about they're gonna win 10 to 11 games. Yes Listen Ken see fo shown blue is the Steelers winning 10 games something that we did not automatically assume was This season right nobody nobody assumed it No, I'm saying like I'm saying like we're always saying blue I said they go in about nine to ten games you bounce down to the first round and then we start all over this year Yeah, but he's talking about how he doesn't have a record and then like he's the best he's the best of course That's why you signed that's why you signed Russell Wilson because like everything that you said I expect Mike Tomlin to get us to nine of ten games now. I have a quarterback who's one Super Bowl Who knows how to win who's been in the playoffs before maybe he can come through in one of these tight close playoff games He can win one or two games for us and then we look up and we're in the AFC championship game because we signed a veteran quarterback for two million This is any other option is better than any other option is better than any other option What are the options?
What are the odd look? Okay? It's like okay, let's why he would Kenny picking next year And thank you. He's not a good question I've seen Russell Wilson was a little bit is what a super bowl.
Yeah, I've been years ago. It's a goal I still got that elk, I'll do it No, you know What are the options is it Kenny Pickett, it's a Russell No, sir, I'm not going that far I'm not going that far I'm not going to say this is not I don't believe in that. No, no, no, no. This is what I'm saying.
This is what I'm saying, Lou. Russell was lost in the Cowboys last time. It was the last time that he was in the playoffs. My thing is this.
My thing is this. I understand that Manny's right. We don't have that many options at QB for us to be picky and choosy about, right? My only thing is, let's go to the next layer of that.
What are the expectations of the Steelers? Are they gonna get past the first round this year? Is that what we're saying? Is that what we're cementing?
We cemented in the first block that the Falcons should win the division and get to the playoffs. What are we cementing with the Steelers? If we're not saying that they're not at least past the first round team, then this means nothing. And I can do a fuck about this move.
If you're saying that. That's great. But that is the expectation though. That's great.
The expectation is just to get to the playoffs and maybe, you know, I guess. That ain't good enough. That ain't good enough. That ain't good enough.
When you said that Russell Wilson is Kenny Pickett, then that is your expectation, right? No, I'm saying that they're, you're gonna probably achieve the same results that you achieve with Kenny Pickett. Pretty much. You gotta get to the playoffs and you may win the first round.
No, no, no, first of all, when Kenny Pickett, you may pick to the playoffs for the time. But there's no, there's nobody in his world that thinks that they're gonna win a playoff game if they make it. With Kenny Pickett. I'm telling you, Russell Wilson, you have a hope that you can win a game and maybe two.
I had no hope in Russell in a while though. I'm gonna be honest about that. You have a hope in Mason, Ruth? Wait, what are y'all saying?
Just a relationship? Why are y'all saying that? About the first year you're gonna do it. He was there.
But the last year you have was the worst head coaches in history. That's what I'm saying. That's arguably D-Wars coaching NFL history. But this is a Super Bowl champion you're talking about.
Y'all think that really mattered. Who the Super Bowl champion? I'm talking about Russell Wilson. So he should be able to overcome that.
No, no, not like Daniel Hackett. That's how bad Daniel Hackett was, bro. Even when saw Peyton got there, saw Peyton's head. I'm a champion, I'm a champion.
I just don't like you. I'm a fan of Daniel Hackett. Either way, I'm with Nick. I think that Simon Rust and I'm looking like my still is checking.
But I don't think winning a first round game is enough. These guys think and only want Super Bowls. That's it. And I understand that.
When you're a fan base, if you're a franchise like the Steelers, you are about championships. They're like the Lakers, they're like the Cowboys, they're like the Yankees. Name iconic franchises on sports. But y'all talk to be realistic.
Patrick Holmes isn't walking through that door. You know, Terry Bradshaw isn't walking through that door. You have to deal with the reality of what you have now. And your reality is, can you pick it?
Who's an unknown, at best is an unknown, and at worst is a bust. Mason Rudolph, we don't even need to touch that. And then Russell Wilson. So you take your shot with Russell Wilson, maybe draft the quarterback, a day three quarterback, develop them, let him sit behind Russell Wilson, and then you see out the end of the year where you are, and was it a worthwhile move?
Was it a worthwhile investment? You go from there? My thing is that we can move on, kid. My thing is with the Houston Texans going to the playoffs and getting out of the first round, that's a success.
With the Steelers, that's the bar. And I think they were already talking about Mike Thomas. People are talking about Mike Thomas. I said this, I called it early, kid.
I said these niggas. Oh, my God. They think Mike Thomas is great. Mike Thomas is, you know, is about to run out of his good graces.
He's about to run out of his good graces. He's never had no winning seasons. He's running out of his good graces. Yeah, now he's running out of the good graces, bro.
Let's fire you now. You're 20 of your contract. I'm not, first of all, the Steelers have done things I've never done before last season, which is fire coaching a season. So that means they're setting presidant.
You know, we always say they fire all the, you fire all the, you fire all the coordinators and it comes back to the head coach. That's what happens in football. So my thing is this, if the Steelers get bounced out of the first round or if, to me, the second round is where they need to get to. If they get bounced out of the first round, people don't look at Mike Thomas.
You have one to play off game over 60 or how many seasons. Get into a quote with almost a decade. Well, the word is they want, he wants this. This is more so him than the Steelers.
This is his last year because he didn't want to continue coaching beyond his year. That's why the extension hadn't played out. They haven't talked about it. So not, that's what he said.
Yes. But they're gearing up and the reason that they say I also in the reason they went out of the queen is they want this to be one last one. They want to give Tomlin all the ammunition that he needs this year to go out on top and then they go from there. Maybe a black man, I'd rather be unemployed than a boy.
My time is my time is stopped working for the Steelers. If you want to work for CBS, Fox, ESPN, all of them going to be right there. His front door. And we're going to go on Brady deals.
We go 20 billion a year. We go 40 billion a year. We go 40 billion a year. We go 40 billion a year.
We go 40 billion a year. We go 40 billion a year. You want to play off? Stop it, bro.
You hate Mike Tom. That's the big one's fan talking to him. Can't move on. Yeah.
I know. Yeah. And he's guaranteed with Philly. And Derek Henry signed a two year deal worth 15 mil with nine mil guarantee with Baltimore.
Were these great editions for the Eagles and Ravens or do they just wait some money? So I guess the Eagles just got another a running back. I mean they're running back. I mean they already said they got like a barking in their back for you.
So I guess the Eagles just got another running back. They got to win a back fund. I mean the hypnosis is going to be hard to stop. The dynamic way it is.
It's like you bill you know. That's too much. Right back. Damn.
You got two running back. like a minute's hard to stop it in a wing tee that you're running. And we're just going to be running off it. They're going to be running out of it.
They're going to be running in the 1977 Nebraska. This is going to be the Army name. He gave every weekend for the company. Congratulations.
Congratulations, bro. Happy to show we're going to have a special estate with no Dallas and Simon. It's going to be real quick though because they ain't got a place to get a little run back. So I really have to talk about that.
Tell us about your one. But here's the capital body. Last week this man said wherever say, come on going to be a Super Bowl favorite. That good that he's going to be able to change the destiny of a team because it's so having to be in the vision against his heart since now.
He wanted to hate. He wanted to win the ball. What's the love? I hate it.
I hate it. I ain't going to lie to you. I know you're going to make it. I know you're going to make it music.
I'm still the Dallas sign. It's Mr. James. I really hate.
The only sign that we had was a long sniper. Like, that's what I'm saying. That's what it was. That's what it was.
It was. I'm just pissed. Y'all ain't saying to me, I'll re-sign the one you had. That was pissed, man.
No, if I had to run it back. I won't say one block is If I were truly worried about my quarterback doing forward passes in definitely The New York Giants offensive line win rate and run scenarios was very first and the Eagles was ranked first obviously they're losing Jason Kelsey the retirement I The two push ain't gonna be the same without just a Kelsey it's not That's not gonna be 100% the same I'd say we wanted a better ones of course because the rest of the time But they're not gonna be top-two, you know I'm saying but at the end of the day you bring in say quan that helps the whole lineman Hey, I gotta do as much this one time because that's all he already used to and he gonna make some moves Um, but you know to give Jalen hurts in that offense credit to degree I did say something was wrong last year because he wasn't running the same and yes He is a running quarterback, but he is a quarterback But at the end of the day if he is healthy plus the weapons that they got on the outside with Goddard die from Tennessee why I can't think of his name, you know, I'm bad with you. Yeah, and then um The one for Alabama tastes with the vontay Smill they gonna be I mean they like they make it. I think they're gonna be alright I think his Take last week was accurate wherever say con goes there.
He's gonna move the needle for them He's gonna move the needle for the Eagles. He goes were already formidable now. You know what I was talking about is um What are we what's our identity? Sequin makes the identity of that team just a little bit easier to carve out because if we're gonna be run first Shit, that's the type of running back you want to have as a run for us often So whatever their identity is moving forward they have all of the pieces in place Was running back the issue for the Eagles last year No, I wasn't running the ball was it was running the ball was an issue for the Eagles?
No, no, no, the defense was the issue I was going to have several issues last year. Um Maybe they weren't that game but all the issues they had standard That was a good one back was this you last year too. He did not look like himself I told you he didn't look right all year, but the biggest issue made it right is he fit second No, I said something look right didn't I say that he said yeah, but I still say that I still say what to Say now I say that too, but the thing about it is the biggest thing was play call it So kill it more is go ahead to figure this out. He got weapons all over the field Man killing what got fired from Dallas for not being able to figure out you think you're gonna be able to figure out And feeling with a running back a quarterback how is that gonna happen bro?
He had Justin Herbert last year he got fired from a job We want to know best quarterbacks that people are receiving you got to me. He'll make Jalen hurts good Yeah I'm about to do it barely play his quarterback with Eagles I'm talking about the running back out What's up, I want to get to many but to lose point kill him kill him or is I Kind of career year after that to kill the morning shit, but many you go ahead No, he went to San Diego and just heard had the worst year that he's ever had in his life, but that happened last year The office of line being injured and come on man. He stopped it like like he went to he went to San Diego with them saying Oh, what killing hurts man? I mean killing boy.
He's pretty smart. He's a really good office of God I've never seen just a herb. It looks so bad like he looked last year It's so true there. What's the thing about?
Sake on the Philly. I mean it was a weird move because like Kent to Kent's point that wasn't their biggest necessity like they Secondary is trash their pass was what it used to be or at least in season before so they have they had other pressing issues But I mean listen, it's no doubt that it doesn't that it helps because they want as a talented running back So I think it's a good move, but it wasn't the move that they needed to make in the moment that they made it I guess that's that's my thoughts on that if that's they can't sell the off-season as okay Well, we got say quite everything is fixed. No, I think they need to go out and make other moves I think they need to fortify the secondary for one Obviously find a replacement for Kelsey because I do think that's a bigger loss than I think y'all like him in credit for Jason Kelsey was The leader was the rock on that offensive line and then you lose these are basically Hall of Fame Center You lose that kind of guy, you know, that's not he's not somebody that you just replaced, you know right away So, you know, I think it's a good move for them. I like the Derek Henry moves to the Ravens though I think that's a huge move for them.
I think that just for guys you get Derek Henry who still he may not be what he was what two Three years ago, but he's still very very good and you add him to that to that team that has a lethal run game Anyway, I just think it automatically boosts that team is not that far off But this is the same thing that you can say about Philly though Like they they addressed the knee they addressed the position that wasn't a position need like they were second in the league and Russian touchdowns I think at least or in like But Baltimore had less holes to fill than Philly Baltimore's issue was an identity crisis not more over run game crisis Like they're in the playoffs like their identity was solid throughout the whole throughout the whole season And here's the thing though Derek Henry is the anti Baltimore running back for the last of five or six seasons There carry has played more than ten games. No Baltimore running back has done that Derek Henry in the last five out of six seasons is run for over a thousand yards regardless of his injury history the Baltimore Ravens Has it had any of that so we're talking about consistency and just think about this from Derek Henry's perspective the load is gonna be less for me here Who's the um Like this is ideal for Derek Henry and we always talk about what does Baltimore need gamebreakers? Well now you have another game breaker to the field you know I even still Derek Henry can still pop a 60-70 yard run Hey Manny on top of that what there can read does I think he is the period in a sentence right of every drive that you're trying to do He's the one that if you're up ten points people put the game away for you You know I'm saying because then dudes after three and a half four quarters. They don't want to hit their country to say That's he for is for one quick second to go back to Philly Philly should have went after luxurious Need if there was really serious about content to where Derek and the Ravens is like Yeah, you say when they're up by ten we know what the Ravens can do when they're up It's when they're down that was with that playoff game show right Derek Henry is not gonna run you into a game Especially at 30 plus and on top of that what the issue was the Ravens.
They already have a good run game That's what I'm saying is like Derek Henry is just a luxury at this point because if they ran the ball They may have beaten it. She's a lot more No, yeah, he's not he's not a luxury. Don't be like people said Nick the health is a huge thing These guys that they have in place they have decent running backs, but they can't stay healthy And I'm talking about you take whichever one you pick on which one I'm talking about because they all of that way But you take him it takes a lot of the pressure off Lamar It takes a ton of pressure off him and that's what you want you wanted to be able to relax back there and what he does He can he's running his extra at this point now now you got a guy that could push the rock and that can Cut up comfortably control the game and that's something that they needed I think it's a plus for them. I really do I Think as much to do about nothing.
It just looks good. It's what I'm saying. They're here. We're done So you got me sound like I feel GM just devaluing the next how's he done?
You know answer the question he just is a wrap what you think you what what you basing is being a rapper Yo, yeah, but the numbers the numbers don't say that he's MVP Derek every but the numbers say he's so consistent He's a top five look at the best they need Because they all get hurt, but um do you know in the last five to six years the The second running back with totally yards from scrimmage is there Carrie only behind Christian McCaffrey So so so you're saying much to do about nothing but the numbers say that he's still the top three top five running back in the league I think it's like a lemon on your lemon 67 last year 12 touch now. Is he ever so years of care? That's fine in all but you You're talking about You're talking about going to an organization that don't keep running back to healthy They're just the player the key thing for both those teams too is those running backs that are coming in are not the focal point Which they've been their whole careers both of them have been the focal points of their team for the whole career So you needed their here in Tennessee. You knew he was going to be the workhorse You knew who the key on your game plan was sitting around stopping him when nobody were about to go to bat They were about their hearing same thing with Sequon nobody worried about the quarterback.
They didn't worry about why don't they worry about Sequon Barkley you put them in both those situations. They're the second or third best option on each team So they can get off and do what they need to do you don't need them to rest for 2,000 You need to be consistent you need to get the touchdowns you need to get the first downs when you need them and you need to make it Close the place that wasn't there is an issue but that wasn't their issue last year people just say they won 14 games Most games in the league last year running the ball wasn't their fucking issue It was the fact of they didn't have an identity when it came to crunched time. When they were down when they're down in games How did they come back? Tomorrow like he know what the fuck he was doing that QB when they were down and he was trying to put him back in a position And it wasn't because of the run game.
That's my whole thing is like The fact that didn't run was an issue not the fact that they couldn't write because they didn't feel they didn't feel comfortable And they also played against a dynasty like that's not we didn't know that we didn't know that We did not know. We did not know. You did not know. I'm saying that going into that game, Baltimore was not the favorites.
The people not people. What did you pick? Nothing. I picked up exactly.
So obviously you was wrong. Exactly. So I was wrong because we came back on that next, that same night. And what did we say?
Lou, the first thing is why the Hill was the Marjax? I thought he was like, he's Pat. Yeah, he was. Why the Hill was not running the ball?
The game was all fucked up. That's why the game was all fucked up. Yeah. They remember that game.
So you think it's something like this? I think it's Derek Henry. Was he going to win? Was he going to win both?
When I came with Derek Henry? Yes. Yes. He was controlling the ball.
He got first downs at the knee. They give the ball to that they thought they could close the game. Derek Henry is that running back now. Ever since then.
They can close the game. Like Baltimore hasn't had anyone close the game. So you're going to say category? No, I'm saying.
I'll say production line. I'll say production line. Because they were saying like over 12, a touchdown. He ain't Derek Henry.
He's shorter than what he's back. Derek Henry. Even on the same level as he is. Is Gus Edwards better than Derek Henry?
No. No, he didn't. Because they didn't every block. They didn't every block.
They're going to rock it and they might be the game. That's not what he lost the game. No, it's the game. No, it's the game.
It's because they're game. I'm just terrible. Why they lost the game because they didn't have a game playing in place to run the football when they're ahead or when they need to give to Lee Precious full of Mar Jackson. The first thing you said, Lou, when they lost that game was not Derek Henry was here.
Boy, they'll win. You said why the fucking is the Mar Jackson throw the ball around like he's paying the ball. Because they didn't handle about to get a long time. That's why he was throwing it around.
They didn't have a game. They didn't have a game. I'm not putting my playoff life in Gus Evans. They did.
They were all exactly how they finished their house. No, no, no. I say they did was from a standpoint of like a whole season. What do we always talk about before?
Do it. What got you there, right? No, Mar Jackson got it. They didn't.
They didn't. They didn't. They didn't. Mar Jackson being an MVP got them there.
But when you get to the playoffs, things have to change, you got to be a little bit better than you've been off season. And they weren't able to do that because they didn't have anybody to give the ball to. Now they got somebody to give the ball to. This is a significant upgrade for the Ravens.
It's a significant upgrade. And I think they need to improve that game. We're not in that game. Our game plan was fucked up.
We didn't. We didn't write the right game plan against the Chiefs. And you know, it came back to bite him. Now, is there Henry?
Is there Henry help in that regard? Yes. I don't think you could say otherwise. My thing is this, I think is this.
And I'm going to move on to this. Will Lamar Jackson, he's the best running quarterback in the league, maybe of all time potentially. We'll probably get all time because he's a two time MVP. They with that in mind, Shelton, with that in mind, what did they decide to do in that AFC?
AFC Championship game. They decided to throw the ball with the best slash greatest running back QB of all time. To me, that says a lot when it comes to their Henry was an issue. It was a fucking game plan.
There, Henry is not going to bring you back when you're down. Today was down. That Kansas City game, that Chaggy should game was going to get ugly. If they didn't turn the ball, if the Chiefs didn't turn the ball over in the red zone, there was going to be all that double digits.
You're not running the ball with Derrick Henry regardless if you got him or not in that scenario. That's what I'm saying. I'm just going to leave it at that. Because y'all just think that the Ravens are there.
We don't see this season. Y'all going to see them go further than we go. I'm not going to speak on that because I don't switch injury. But y'all asking the team that don't know how to handle running backs, they handle running backs.
Yeah, that's crazy. Do anybody know how to handle fights though? So let's go through these next couple of topics quickly here. We got a fight that broke up between LSU and South Carolina and a skull for.
Was that a bad look for them? I don't think it was. In my opinion, I don't think it was bad. What I felt was bad was Kim Oke's comments afterwards and how she handled it.
We saw Dawn is one of the greatest coaches to coach. What was wrong with Kim Oke's comments? Did you hear what she said? Yeah, we see it.
I wish I had to reach like that. Come on, man. I wish I had to reach like that. Because you're pouring gasoline on the fire.
You're pouring gasoline on the fire. And as a man, hold on. Everything is wrong. When you're a coach, when you're supposed to be setting an example, you're supposed to choose however you want to handle it.
You decided to handle it that way. Dawn said you decided to handle it with class. That's what you say to the media behind closed doors. You say, hey, next time we pick on the biggest one.
You know what I'm saying? But those are two different conversations. So I'm not putting it in that opinion, you don't handle it in that way. That was classless.
