2024 October Surprise - The Author says - Grow 1 10.16.2024

Day 16 of our October surprise, and we are looking into one of the principles in Scripture, emphasized by Peter. In 1 Peter 2:1, he tells us to, like newborn babes, and grow through the food of Scripture, and then in 2 Peter 1 we read: "Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge; 6 and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness; 7 and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. 8 For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins." 2 Peter 1:4-10 The key verse 8, "if these qualities are yours and are increasing." Not a step pyramid, a process of attaining final mastery of a level and then moving on to the next, but a spiral staircase on which we progress up and up continuously until glory. How might the Author's words in 2 Peter 1 infuse our prayer and supplication? Brethren, let's pray for one another.
