2024 October Surprise - The Author says - Lead Us Not. 10.23.2024

Today, we look at the difficult passage, "'Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. 10 'Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. 11 'Give us this day our daily bread. 12 'And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 'And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil." Matthew 6:9-13 Specifically, verse 13 is the riddle. We know He does not lead us into temptation (James), so why this request? My best sense at this moment: I believe God wants us to reflect and affirm in our prayers our deep sorrow over our sin and our longing to sin no more. (Even though we know that awaits us in glory.) What say you, beloved?
