2024 Southeastern Field Training Officers Association Conference

This past week I had the honor of presenting at the 2024 SEFTOA conference. Field training officers from around the country were in attendance.I sat down with Mike Schentrup from Advanced Police Concepts as we discussed each day in review. If we are going to change the culture of this profession it must start with those that are entering it and the first person they come in contact with to impact them is their FTO. The role the  FTO plays is life defining for the newly hired officer. Getting this right can not be left to chance. The conference focused on how we do a better job of taking care of our people but just as important, how we do a better job of taking care of ourselves.
