JAFは、寒い夜にエンジンを止めた車の中でどれだけ耐えられるかを実験しました。4人の被験者は、対策なし、毛布とカイロ、寝袋、エマージェントシートの4つの方法で8時間過ごしました。結果は、対策なしの人は2時間45分、エマージェントシートの人は5時間半でギブアップしました。毛布とカイロ、寝袋の人は8時間持ちました。
