2025 Rap Up
from VOTP Hosted by Jerome
In this special year-end episode, we break down everything that shaped 2025, from the sounds that dominated playlists to the moments that took over timelines. We kick things off with our 2025 Music Awards, debating the tracks, albums, and artists that defined the year. From Song, Album, and Artist of the Year to standout moments like Best Rap Feature, Best R&B Comeback, and Best Female Rap Moment, we cover the highs—and the runs that couldn’t be ignored. We also get honest about the flip side of success, calling out the Most Overrated Song of 2025, shining a light on the Most Underrated Artist, and unpacking how virality shaped music with our pick for Best Viral Song of the TikTok/IG Era. Next, we shift to screens big and small. We crown our Show, Movie, and Documentary of the Year, relive the Best Reality TV Moment, and debate which streaming platform really won 2025. Not everything aged well, though—we talk about the show that fell off and highlight the surprise hit nobody saw coming but everyone ended up watching. To close it out, we rewind the internet itself. From the moment that broke the internet to the most talked-about celebrity, we revisit the scandals, memes, and trends that dominated conversation. We also vent about the most annoying trend, officially decide what we’re leaving in 2025, and crown the best meme of the year—because culture wouldn’t be culture without humor. This episode is part celebration, part critique, and fully honest—a no-filter recap of what mattered, what missed, and what defined 2025 across music, media, and pop culture.
