Advent Day 9 - Mary Dowling Tequila Barrel Finished BourbonA Salute to the Badass Bourbon Queen! Born to Irish immigrants in Kentucky, she married John Dowling, owner of Waterfill & Frazier Distillery. When he passed away, she took over the distillery like a boss! When fire razed the distillery, she rebuilt it. When Prohibition came knocking with false bootlegging charges? She relocated to Mexico and kept the whiskey flowing. That's what we call grit!Their high rye Kentucky Bourbon, finished in Tequila barrels, salutes Mary's resilience. It opens with a subtle blend of spice and anise, adorned with soft floral notes. Then comes the surprise - a touch of agave mingling with citrus, grapefruit, smoke, tobacco, and nutmeg. The finish? A spicy combo of black pepper and lasting spice.
