2025 Yorktown Soccer

from UVA and NOVA Legends Podcasts® · host Julian Brown

On the eve of postseason play, I’m joined by senior captains of Yorktown HS soccer to reflect on the 2025 Patriots season and the broader local soccer landscape: Quincy Greene, forward (Washington & Lee ’29), Reese Montgomery, midfielder (Davidson ’29), Avery Stell, forward (Boston College ’29), and Meri Strazzella, fullback (University of Delaware ’29). We take a look at how this year’s team compares to past Yorktown powerhouses, including the 2021 state championship squad, where Reese played a key role. Our conversation touches on the season’s highs and lows, the differences between club and high school soccer, the toughest competition in the region, Coach Hannah Davis’s impact, and how each of them approached the college decision process. It was a real pleasure to talk with such accomplished and thoughtful student-athletes at such an exciting point in their journeys.
