2026.03.08 Sol Dance - Live Rhythm Crew

from Drum Circles of North Central Georgia · host Drumming Drake

Sol Dance, a diverse ecstatic dance community promoting freedom of expression and emotional release through dance and movement in judgement-free spaces throughout Atlanta, also features live organic rhythm. Before transitioning to the set of resident DJ, Scott Houston, a crew of percussionists join together at the center of the event space for a live rhythm performance. Afterwards, the crew drums in support of Scott Houston's set. For this dance, I was given the role of live rhythm lead to support singer, Shonali Banerjee, and filled out the crew with a variety of cultural music sounds as well as friends I've jammed with frequently in community drum circles around Georgia.••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Sol Dance - Live Rhythm Crew"Drumming Drake" Pendley - Live Rhythm Lead / Custom Percussion Kit@thedrummingdrakeAlex Pearson - Djembe & Floor Toms@chaosdrummingJonah Bautista - Mouth Harp & Shakers@_jonahoftheforest_Ananda ParamAnanda - Doumbek(Does not have Instagram)Featuring Shonali Banerjee on vocals@singingresistanceatl••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••0:24 - 10:02 Pre-Dance Jam10:03 - 14:11 Rehearsal with Shonali Banerjee14:12 - 27:30 Sol Dance Live Rhythm Crew Performance••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Song Credits"Keep Walking" inspired by Lyndsey Scott, new lyrics by Shonali Banerjee "No One Is Getting Left Behind" by Josh Blaine••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Sol Dancehttps://soldancemovement.com/Instagram@soldancemovement••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Note from the podcast owner:As audio from circles is processed, no one handles source files except for the podcast owner. Side conversation is masked or deleted along with space between music and rhythm. What remains is spliced together to make those omitted segments invisible. Audio levels are then balanced in post-process for easy listening. The purpose of this podcast is to capture the essence and spread awareness of circle communities and their culture.
