Don't listen to the Santant Network. Welcome to How Good's 20, a weekly AFL podcast, but we ask the most important sporting question of all, I'm Sean. I'm Tom. And I'm Joel.
Boys, how good's footy? There we go, there we go, there we go! Sean, Tom! Delicious!
Round 20 of the AFL MC's in 2026 will be won that history will forget. Every team played in a shit game. Yeah, we've had some juicy rounds of footy this year. It's been a couple of absolute beauties.
This is not one of them. I've already forgotten everything that happened. I think it's either got annihilated or it was closer than it should have been and they should have been annihilated anyway. Like, Carlton Girl goes.
Oh, it's only 30 points. That is not a good game football. I truly, truly believe outside of maybe one of the buy rounds where no one played. If I was ranking, you know, the rounds in tier order, or not even tier order, just in order.
Round 20, it's the most recent round and probably also the 20th round. If ranked terms of quality. Yeah, yeah, great. Let's talk about it.
Hey, good. How good is it? Hey, hey, as a consolation, if you're in a shit round of football, if your team wins, then at least your team has won in a shit round of football, apologies to one host in this conversation. Yeah, hey, sometimes you get done by 93 points.
Yeah. Tom, Tom, Tom, Tom, Tom, it happens twice in three weeks. Now Tom, you played in one of the two Friday night games because they still can't figure out the fucking fixture. How good is that?
So Melbourne took on Jollong. Yes. Jollong, you won, congratulations. The scoreboard is kind to Melbourne.
The scoreboard is incredibly kind to Melbourne. If you kind of want a summary of how the game was going, basically watch the second quarter and the way Jollong took all of Melbourne's weapons away from them in a quarter of football. And then the first half of the third quarter, we're all over them. And I think kicked two goals, five from like 30 inside 50s.
Like we just blew them apart for a quarter. I couldn't put on the scoreboard and they got back a little bit closer. And then in the like the last quarter, we kicked away before they got some cheapies at the back end of the same year, the week before. It's into the last three goals.
Yeah, you can see the one by 20 points. Yeah. Just a damn little web. Hey, you're listening to this on a phone or a computer or look at what?
If you're hearing it in someone's car as they drive past you, just to get ahead and be like, hey, can I borrow your phone for a second? I didn't look at the worm. If you're driving your car while listening to this, get your phone out. You've got the worm and when the police say what happened, you'd be like, I was looking at the worm and I'll be one of the only that's the only excuse that means you don't go to jail.
And that's a big one. 20 years. Yeah, this game was flattening on a lot of it just really shows like the footy I know and love is kind of falling from grace a little bit. Tog Langdon was only on ground for 83% game time.
And like what? What are we doing? Why does it even exist anymore then? What's the point?
Seventeen percent of the game. The man who was famous for 100% Tog was on the bench. What the fuck? Yeah.
But yeah, this was a really dangerous game coming in Melbourne hadn't lost at the G. Yeah, I'm not going to go season. I keep getting Melbourne a good probably because occasionally they play games like this and they go, no they're not. Yeah, it was basic.
They trick you. Yeah. They trick you. Yeah, so Melbourne coming in, having lost a game at the G too long, a bit like last week, you know, a few injuries, so home's out, Cameron coming back from injury.
And so a bit of an unknown quantity. I was worried about playing Melbourne all year, faster when they get going. And they blew out of the blocks because he kicked the first goal. They look fucking unbelievable.
We steadied. And then the second quarter, we just smashed him. Shannon Neil kicked five. He looked like a behemoth, could not be stopped.
Just coming out hands sticky as fuck, kicking everything. And then Oli Henry, your child combined. It's like a rival. It's a rival Tom, but it's not aliens.
It's fucking Janet Neil. I mean Adam's walks in and there's just big circle turns into a team. And it's Neil trying to teach language, but that language is goals. Yeah.
Yeah, he looked, he looked really good. And then like this is the kind of nice thing for Jilong at the moment is that one of you got Neil who's like 23 or 24, he's like starting to come into his own, dominate that forward line. Poking him on his second game looks like he's getting a good two. At the other end, you've got Tonner as Sullivan, who's like in his second or third year, probably played one of his best games.
He's been killing it all year, half back, but played probably one of his better games, just marking everything. He's quick for a bigger guy, two nice kind of tent poles that you can build the rest of the team around, which was, which is really nice to say. I thought, yeah, really good work. And once again, I was sheen Marlon.
Can't get away from him. Can't get away from him. This is also kind of bad for Mel because that three players not finished the game, which is scary at this point of the year. So picket, not cosy, Chandler and Bailey Fretch all ended the game injured.
On the bench, yeah. So the trails definitely actually went out with a concussion, got knocked down to marking the test, Chandler heard his ankle, I think. And I don't have any Fretch, but he went off sore. So, and we're recording before the injury report.
So it's hard to say how many weeks anyone's missing. Yeah, the ladder predictor also has Melbourne slipping into the wildcard now. Likely finished seventh, apparently. Jesus.
Well, I hope they're looking forward to playing probably St. Kilda. Oh, what a dream. What a fucking dream.
That's a free hit. It'd be so funny if like the first time all year St. Kilda beat a good team is in the wildcard. It might happen.
They're going to be pushing for it so much, but Ross Lyon is, we'll get to him later. A stupid con and with every passing second becomes a stupid con. And here I thought that he should have been fired two years ago and yet he keeps being bad. He should have been, he should have stayed fired when he got fired, you know, way back when.
I'm wondering if there's one last sexual harassment allegations that he paid harsh money for. Look at that one. Correct. Yeah.
And I can't say that because this isn't sland on. This isn't liable. That happened. It's in the news, but he has friends in the media.
So no one fucking talks about it anymore, but you've got no friends here. Ross, you stupid con. Joel, don't worry about sland on because as you know, everyone's reading this podcast anyway. They don't know who said that.
No, I fucked up and said your name. Hey, maybe, maybe, maybe Tommy's joking when he says that. Yeah. Tom was a little fun joke.
And when Ross gets me the electric chair, the last things I'll say were fuck you, can't it was worth it. See you and how come. My name is Sean Carney. That's good.
One last thing just on the John game, very quickly before we move on. Another quick shout out to a young player who played it. I said Neil had his big moment up forward con or a sloven down back. Mitch Edwards, just quite at least having a reasonable year.
He's very young and like green in the rock still coming up against going. I was really worried, but I actually thought when de Korni was a laid out, it was like, okay, this is going to be dangerous. Edwards did a really good job of neutralizing gone. Like, gone still did gone things, but he wasn't the monstrous force that I thought it was going to be.
There were a number of times there was one person to play with Edwards, tapped the ball over Gorn's head, stepped around him and just burnt him. Just took off. Yeah. I thought beautiful.
This is this is good stuff from the young fella. So some good green shoots down the category. And also just quickly. Yeah, I guess like going probably comes into there's maybe five to 10 players at this where it's like you can do all you kind of against them, but despite everything they will persist somewhat.
You can limit the damage a bit, but yeah, like Gorn in the rock, he's unless you have the second best rock person in the entire league, he's going to dominate. Like when you tag Nick Day, because he's still going to get 20, that's better than the 40. I think it was more like, so Gorni had like 40 something hit outs, but he's working around the ground just wasn't as damaging as it can be. Yeah.
And I just thought I think Blitzars and Edwards combined really well just to work him and Neil, Neil worked him a lot too when he went forward. So he didn't really get a kick off. He like he had nine kicks of the game and four of them were in the last quarter. So like you restricted him to handles 19 touches.
That's a very quiet day for old Maxie. But yeah, congratulations to the Tom on the wind, Tom on the Tom. Congratulations on the Tom. John have been successful for that long that when teams win now, they say they don't say win anymore.
They say Tom. I do. Yeah. Anyway, speaking of big fucking losers, Essiden.
Oh, as I think everyone in the world saw coming, the Giants win last week. Yeah, that doesn't mean shit. Essiden immediately reverted back to the team that they were the week before that where they looked entirely lost on the field. And as his tradition, a strong forward kick seven against us.
And they did that in two quarters without Mitch Lewis. Yeah. So I think you got knocked out. That's a what a wake for him.
Sines a big contract deal gets knocked down the guy. You're gonna try and trick him. Be like, no, no, no, you actually pay us to play for Hawthorne. Ridley's injured against you.
The man that wants to trade so bad, yet can't play two games in a row. Jordan Ridley. What do you think is worse, Joel? Future 17th.
Yeah, because like for this has been trade rumors about him for years. And it's usually always like the bums fans. They're like, oh, two first round. It's obviously like you got to pay up for him.
To me, he's not worth anything at all, which is not potential. He's awesome, obviously. If I go into the trade period this year with that kind of logic and we end up trapping Ridley and merit again, because we go, no, no, no, no, no, they're not worth the player they are now. They're worth the player they were when they're in the absolute prime and they were flying.
And then no one wants to trade with us. We are going to set the team back probably another five years, which is like we could do five years worth of damage in one off season. We've done it before and I think we're very capable of doing it again. Ridley's almost best bet would be to stay at Essendon because like I'm just trying to imagine because I know that he's like there's been talk to him once you go to Queensland.
So that's either Gold Coast or Brazil. I'm missing the new reports, though. No, what's the new report? Your reports are I could stay Victoria.
It's not an accident. Okay. So to me the contract that he's on at the moment, the money, he's not worth that anymore. The guy literally can't get out there and consistently play.
It's crazy. I think, you know, Essendon really needs to get rid of Paris, Ridley and merit, even though merit is still very obviously our best player. It's just it would be stupid to hold them hostage. And I get this some pride.
At this point, you're way better off turning it around. I just been like, hey, not a good year. They want to be here. Look at this highlight real, but you don't fucking do what you did last year, either.
Where Essendon made the crazy decision to launch a smear campaign against a player. They had no intention of trading. What the fuck logic was that? Do one or the other smear campaign and trade him so that Essendon fans are like, yeah, good fucking get rid of him or don't trade him.
Gas him up. He's worth too much and fuck orthon play into the rivalry. But for some reason they did both. That's crazy.
Anyway, I love the club. Love to just watch all my players drop like flies. Hope he's injured. Ridley's injured.
Can he kick three? That's pretty good. Hey, good. Can I give you a stat line that I think is my favorite stat line from this game, Joel?
Yeah. So all of the damage was really done in the second and third quarter. Like it was, it was, well, that's why God didn't kick these seven. He kicked three and then four.
Yeah, it was a smashing. And across those two quarters there, I'm just going to start line in the second quarter. Two disposals, both handles, one mark, one tackle. And then in the third quarter, I'm looking at zero disposal, zero kick, zero handles, zero mark, zero tackles.
Look at a million dollar man starts. So I would think if the ball was coming in a lot to a forward line that a defender would see a lot of the ball, but yeah, McKay didn't have a disposal in the third quarter and touch the ball once in the last quarter. Give him another million. Make him a two million dollar man.
Well, I don't know how you're doing that player. He's just shot here. He's got somewhere else to start again. Send him to carbon with his brother.
No, I'd be like to pay. You'd have to pay. No, we'll take that contract. Honestly, I'd be a full Georgia type contract.
Well, anyone want it. Anyone on the right mind want that deal. All right, try him to Boston. I honestly think like six weeks in the VFL, maybe longer, maybe half a year, like don't don't try to go forward.
No, no, no, no, no. Yeah, he's either a dog shit, one million dollar forward. That's only good for a goal of game if we're lucky or a backman that does nothing. He's just confidence is absolutely shattered.
Like I can't feel bad for him. Like also because the game plan that he was promised and the reason we got him is not how we play. We don't have to structure for that anymore because his entire role at Essident was like we didn't have a total strong full back basically because we've got Redmond and Ridley and they do most of the damage when they can just run down half back. So if you've got Ben McEye, even if he's not taking contestant mark as long as he gets the ball to ground or stops him kicking a goal.
How? Yeah, that's what we needed. He was literally just the best available defender for the role we needed. We just need a massive fucking guy.
But Ridley's been injured the entire year and wants to leave Redmond's all over the ground because he's one of maybe three good players we have now and I use good loosely with one two games. The problem with the guys, he's not a good one on one defender. Like he doesn't seem to have like footy IQ. Like the amount of like behind the scenes goal footage and just constantly say him lost.
Like he's never, he's pretty bad at manning up. He's pretty, he's pretty shit at kicking. He's kind of just a shit player. He is one of those classic AFL players where he's got a contract because he's tall.
Yeah, it's as simple as that. And there's a lot of them. And some of them are the shitest players you've ever seen in your life, but they have hot. And hey, Sean, maybe some of those players will play 300 games.
That's the dream. That's the fucking dream. I will say that Jack Unston has moved to equal fourth in the Coleman despite the fact he's only played 13 games this year. He's got the highest average of anyone.
He deserves doing the Coleman. He's probably a little too far away from Charlie to make it, but he's the issue. Because Charlie's been cooking lately. That's the problem.
Charlie was out of form. You'd be like, Oh, Jack's coming. He's coming hard. It's also crazy because Nick Watson and Jack Unston have both kicked 47 goals for this year, which really shows that, yeah, all of them are pretty good.
That's the world. Brisbane, Brisbane got three three players pretty high up in the goal kicking as well. I think you've got more of top five. Yeah, Cameron and Lomonty 38 as well.
That's pretty crazy. There we go. As a there were lean years as a Brisbane supporter, we're like Josh Green would win our goal kicking with like 20 goals for the year or something like that. So, you know, things change.
He's kicked 35 this year, which is crazy. Yeah. He's also not played every game. He's missed a lot too, like in terms of the shots behind and out on the floor.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He's still 29.
He's missed a lot of goals. Just quickly on Georgiades. Ken Inkley has his rolling all Australian team. Georgiades is in that team.
No, I've got to dive. I've got to dive. I'll go for Ken. That's so funny.
That's Ken going in to Baffery's boy. That's Ken broadly sniffing around at the Georgiades contract. Oh, for sure. Ken's like, I'll put him in my rolling all Australian team and he'll decide to come and live in Tasmania and play footy.
He's made his beautiful. Oh, yeah. No, like I'm not mocking Tazydor. If I was a player, I'd take that money.
Sure. Yeah. Awesome. Yeah.
Also, hey, it breeds premiership coaches. It does. Yeah. Anyway, as a result, we're getting closer to electing a coach and every...
Yeah. Ken, we must get on the panel to interview the coaches. Sorry, headline, sorry, sorry, headline. It was Soccer Roo's legend.
Is that my ignorance with soccer? I don't think it's a Soccer Roo's legend, is he? Ken, I'm asking. Well, he'd be a Melbourne victory legend.
He played for the Soccer Roo's though. Yeah, but is he a Soccer Roo's legend? I don't think so. He's not a Fucking team.
He's not a Fucking team. Get up. Tom, do you know Soccer Stats? They're going to say something and they're going to be like, what the fuck does that mean?
What's his disposal? I said, I'm going to judge them. I said, Kevin Musk has played 46 times for Australia. That's pretty huge, actually.
Yeah, but what does that mean? That's a massive. That's a good amount of times. It's 46 games.
Is he a legend or is he a legend coach? Is he twice? He's twice two A-lake titles, I think, and coach Davis. He is a Soccer Roo's legend because I've just looked up.
Do you know what his nickname is? What? Super Kev. I'm sorry I brought this up.
I know last week I said that it had been announced in essence with Dean Solomon and James Surd. Now it's blown back out to four. Dean Solomon's not there, but there's a big asterisk next to his name because he hasn't decided if he wants the job or not. He has to decide this week because he might be the fifth person in the box.
What? Are you the fuck? I don't know. Out from the heavens.
Yeah, presented well right here. Some Jamie guy? Who the fuck's that? Oh, Jamie Graham.
Baby. Is it come? Or is he a trio? Hey, who knows?

Yeah. My club is. I was speaking to a friend over the weekend to bear with a St. Kilda long suffering, but he's like and he said this to my face and he said it in a funny way.
So I respected it. He was like talking to you always makes you feel so much better about St. Kilda. And he was like, it's like, he's like, you're the first Essent supporter I've spoken to that's not like bring back her and I'm like, don't get me wrong.
I want her back just so that everyone shuts the fuck up. I do not think it's even remotely close to the right idea. But I did also bring up a listener's email from last week of the week before where it fails, which is most likely. And then where we've gone so far back was that, yeah, like the 2022 West Coast Eagles kind of form is back on the cards for us because we're stuck with a shit list, a shit coach.
Um, and just like everyone will be losing their fucking minds. Of the fall of the five candidates. Yeah. You've got to pick her for the excitement factor.
Cause now the others are exciting. No, none of them. There's not even like a little tickle in my balls when I read those names. Sean, there's no, there's no movement whatsoever.
You got to sell hope. Heard is hope, even though it's the worst decision a football club will ever make in the history of this game. Imagine how much people will hate Essent if it becomes the worst redemption story of all time and we win a final. I cannot stress enough.
It will not happen. We'll finish bottom four and everyone will give him chance to grow. And three years will finish 11th and then we'll drop again and then everyone going, hmm, I think we might have fucked up. Um, yeah.
Anyway, go, go bombers. Whoo. Brisbane played, uh, put out light, condolences to the snake man. I have to say, and I said this to snake man when I messaged him, um, I know the term honorable loss probably doesn't make people feel that good when their teams are losing.
This was, I felt it's pretty honorable from port. They're like devastated with injuries. They've really got no one. Yeah, they have no back line at all.
Yeah. The only Francis trying to carry the entire team on his shoulders and played a really good guy by the way. Yes. And then last week, last week they throw Joe Ritz's Richards on the ball.
Looks really great. And then he's now after the rest of the injury. Yeah. It's been like a cursed season of football.
Um, I just, you know, what happened? Cause I'm gonna put a curse on him. Can, can maybe put a curse on the way out. Oh, no, he loves those boys.
That's stupid. I may retract that bit about that. Can't fucking curse. I think the thing is to like Josh Carr's got a lot out of a little.
So you're like, what do you like when he actually gets players to be able to use? Oh, look, I might be shocked at all the port. Play finals next year. If they get a healthy injury with us back, like, yeah, they're gonna lose butters, but like, think about all the other players, they're gonna get back and be crazy.
Anyway, that's just to say, I think port were very admirable. And it just reached a breaking point. Uh, where Brisbane basically released the river and killed them. Let's do that again.
How about another second? And it was just, it was just pig, pig behavior from some of those boys. Ashcroft, uh, he is in rare form. He is just dominating in the last year.
Back off for the year has been really nice. Yeah. I hope he's in all Australian contention. It's like getting in the midfields, but the tightest thing possible.
Probably that's just too many good players, but I hope he's in the squad. I think he said it awesome year. Importantly, he went to the claggy shop back in form and Jasper Fletcher, I think, too. And the Zork recovered from awareness of his hamstring awareness.
Just had a classic 34 touches, 800 meters gain sort of game. Just one of those ones where Brisbane just looked really good. They're just building and the injury list was diabolical early in the year. It's kind of flattened out and things are looking good.
The tight gallop suspension, the three weeks, that's a setback. Well, I think Darcy Garda's nearing a return from injury. So maybe that'll just be a straight swap. And I know guys playing a lot of AFL games who can slot into the back line.
That is a man by the name of Tom Duday. So the time goes on for three weeks. If the invisible man doesn't get selected before the end of the season, just listen, Ruby's contractor. What's the point?
He doesn't exist. Then I'm fascinated to see what's happening with Duday. I check his vehicle numbers every week and he can't do as much of a deep dive in the stats with the VF. But from what I'm saying, he's just out there existing.
Yeah. I don't know. I don't know what's going on. But I want to believe that he's real.
I want to see him. I want to see him play and he just gets 25 and 50 to those who contested. I want to see him come back and break the into set mark record. Yeah.
How many games of footy if you watch where the into set mark record is like on the verge of being broken and it's all the commentators talk about and it doesn't happen. Yeah. Well, they tie it. They always play as level it.
They very, really break it. I love a gentleman's agreement never to break that record. The defenders code. The code of the fist.
There's always AFL stats like that. Like I feel like every time someone's having a crazy game, they go, for this could be. So there was like one with Bailey Smith. I think it might have been last year where he had the most amount of clearances or inside 50s.
So it was a start like that. Yeah. And it was like, he still needed like six and that will like hyped it up from like the third quarter being like, he's on track. He's yeah.
And I think like I'm said, pretty sure he leveled it. Yeah. I can't remember what the Ashcroft record was right at the end of the game. But he basically did some combination of stats like over 30 touches, like two goals, X amount of contested or whatever it was.
But it's like only only he's done it. And I think Dangerfield and Martin and Gary Ablett, Jr. Or something like that. Yeah.
So he's cooking Draper kicked an incredible goal. He got it was rock contest, taps it to himself, runs drills it from basically the center square. It wasn't as good as his goal the year when he was at the moments, basically because it was an easier goal. He didn't have as much people hanging off him and he wasn't pretty like that.
He wasn't all sorts of shit. But awesome goal. Like not many racments can do that. That's he's cooking.
That's a semi-draper magic. That's that's the one good thing where you go, my love for semi-draper is at a 100 out of 10. And for the 10 minutes, he decided that it was probably at a negative four. Yeah, he's he and Luke Jackson are the only two players who can do that.
But Luke Jackson has other things that he does where Sam Draper is just like 40. Probably Jackson has more consistency to his drapers. Just sort of watch a game. You're like, same driver for a while.
And then bang. He does one of those fucking things you've ever seen. He just like Jesus Christ. He's crazy.
He's back. Yeah, Ty Gallup, I hate that action. I'll talk about it on the show. And I like when players push other players when they're on the ground and things like that.
And this was like an extreme version of that. We picked him up and jumped his face basically. And he tried the argument of my thumb was sore. So that's why I acted outside of my character.
Please don't give me three weeks. Give me two. And I said, get fucked. You can have three.
You can head. He deserves it. You can fourth them up your ass. He deserved it.
Just you pity. If it wasn't for the active actually doing it. So yeah, I mean, he'll learn from it. He's only 20.
Like I don't want to let's just wait and see. Hopefully he never does anything. Fuck like that again. He learns from it.
He's only played 20 games or something. But shit stuff. I hate it. I always it shoots me when other teams do it.
So I got to call it out with my players do it. And that was a really bad one. Yeah. Now quickly, Professor, congratulations to both of your wins.
Thank you, John. Thank you. It's time to head to two segments that I'm joining together this week. I'm going to play both things.
I'm going to put a little divide. But this is the fuck head zone. And we're starting with Coach Watch. North Melbourne is searching for a new coach.
No, no, no. It's been rough and it has been sensationally sacked. By a Richmond fucking style guy. By a wins in 38 matches.
Smash that fucking meat. All fucking sum up. Yes, I'm doing it. I'm 24 contested.
What the fuck? I got my heart. Russ Lyon. You're fucking key forward superstar who's played one game in 100 years at this point.
Gets injured in his comeback game that he shouldn't have played. He played for no reason. And then when you get asked questions about it, don't make it seem like you haven't spoken to him. That's fucked in the head behavior.
Why is no one at St. Kilda talking to a man that got hurt, which would have been a heartbreaking injury for him. And he's out for the rest of the season, no. He came out and said, because he was on the 360 the next night with Chris Scott.
And he came out and claimed that Max King had already left the venue and he hadn't spoken to him or the men close. Surely, and I know I would have thought maybe you would have tried to talk to the guy that you wanted to build a team around. And then apparently today someone was asked about it and they're like, I've you spoken to him and they're like, Oh yeah, and I've sent him a text. And it's like, what do you mean?
Like, I know coaches, I was walking. That was Captain of the Club Wilkie. They said, have you spoken to Max today? And he goes, I've sent him a message.
You know, just telling me all the boys have got his backs or the things like, you're the captain. Like, have you left his fucking house? Yeah, go to his house and chat to him. The leadership of that club's really fascinating.
And in a way, they're just making me, they're all fucked and they deserve to be a shit-ton. If he starts up ahead. Team of champions, not a championship team. Yeah, I kind of, I watched the Ross line presser and part of me is like, you just asking him the same questions 15 times, but I do love it because whoever that Juno was.
It was Mark, Mark McGowan. Yeah, Mark McGowan. He fought back and you never really see that. And I respect it and I want them to do it more.
I think they should challenge the coaches every single week because all you got to do with Ross Lyon is just challenge him a little bit. And the surface slips away and he just, he gets angry. He's a kind of, he's not angry, but he's a fucking. The Mark McGowan thing was frustrating because I know what he was trying to do, but he, because he couldn't, he couldn't argue with Ross and be like, because basically the tone of him repeating the question was basically just like, you haven't spoken to him.
That's crazy. But you can't, that's no, you can't just make a statement like those are journalists because then Ross will be like, fuck off, get him out of here. So it has to rephrase his question, which then just landed him getting frustrated and asking the same question. And then they both kind of look like fuck heads.
But the raw stuff he's frustrating because he tries to throw like coach jargon in there to like distract people. Like he talks a lot about how Maxine's done a lot of high speed running and all this sort of stuff. And it's like, fuck it, like you try to bring him back in May. I think he broke down in his second VFL game.
So this time you decided he just run harder training. Let's bring him into the AFL. I just think it's so poorly handled. And it was the same injury too.
Yeah, I didn't since him talked about it during the pregame on the radio. And he was like, yeah, the expectations probably just going to be that he'll play 60% of game time. And to me, if I'm a coach picking a team, that's not enough. No.
Because there's other factors. Like other players could get injured in the first quarter. And suddenly a guy you've brought in under court who you only want to play 60% or half of game time to show off basically to your fans. Suddenly the pressure goes up on him because he's got to play more because he benches down.
And like if they're not fit, don't play them. And how would he ever be fit? He hasn't played 40 in two years. Yeah.
Like I'm crazy. And he's such a high risk player. Like you think of these players who come back from long term injuries and how they like like I think about something like Kitty Coleman right at Brisbane. Like he's injured at the moment when he came was coming back from that knee issue.
Fagin was really reluctant to pick him in the seniors until he was 100% confident in his body. Like when Jelong picked up Jack Martin two seasons ago, he played VFL for weeks and weeks. And then he finally played a game. And I think he played two games in a row as a sub or got subbed out at half time.
They will really be on managing the work on it. I think Ross, because Ross said Max King's going to play in the press of the week before. And I think he just said that because they just lost to Jelong and he was kind of getting annoyed with the questions. He was being asked.
So he's just like, well, yeah, now King's coming back. That's the scoop, whatever. Like he made a joke about it being, after I was a scooper of vanilla, his two scoops for you. Max King's back.
I think he said that. And then the rest of his enthalpy conspiracy theory bullshit. But it just feels like he jumped at a shadow when he didn't need to because he's fighting for his life in press. And he's like, he's such a fuckwit.
Anyway, sacros lion, that's the other coach watch. Hope he eats shit in hell. I got my highlight. Now, second fuck out of the night, Sean, it's time to open the danger zone.
And this time, the danger zone is not about his own field performance, even though he also finished the game. Well, if I may briefly, yes. Sean is performing spoke for itself. He was delivering nothing.
He was into it after the game, a game in which he had about four different injuries. And he was talking about how sometimes it just takes an hour to warm back up. But that's footy. And it's like, that's not footy.
That's footy when you're, should be retired. Did you hear Chris Scott say, yeah, I thought he should have come off at three quarter time, but he told me it was fine. Well, then you're a shit, coach. Fuck, you've got a 30 fucking 57 year old fucking dinosaur there on the field.
He just signed a contract extension. That in itself baffles me to be honest. Why didn't they wait till the end of the year? Anything could happen to me now and then like anything that did happen on the weekend, which is him breaking down.
You shit, I have to say Sean, for my piece on danger zone, he's on field exploits, whatever. But this week, I think he needs to tear that contract up because of what he's done off the field, which is be a stupid fuck biggest, biggest dumb fuck I've for a man who is off an interview and he's a good media performer to just come out with this piece week fucking thing off the back of the Quayna Adelaide incident on on Thursday night to any Adelaide listeners who or any listeners who are like, no, you could do Quayna, you're a dumb cunt. I don't listen to my podcast and I think you should fucking dig a hole and line it and then put dirt on top. So I'm just a briefly cut in there.
We don't talk about this enough because we really don't give Adelaide a lot of time on the show because they don't shoot and we hate them. But they're a detestable fucking football club. Historically, currently everything. And again, it's not every fan.
I did say there was a guy, an Adelaide supporter who posted a video as he was leaving Adelaide Oval, who was like, he always had like years like, yeah, we just like, I'll sit in that crowd and I was really bad guys. What are we doing? That's really, so I will say he needs to know that video too. He includes himself in it.
He says that I'm a piece of shit for back in Friday basically. Yeah, he does. Yeah. But I think the thing was so frustrating that this is that I think Craig McCray came out with was really good on this.
I think the commentary team were really good on the issue. I think the media and the AFL have a little bit to answer because they were trying to hype it up on the back of the Rankin incident, which is a big grubby. But then Nix has a go. He completely whiffs it.
I will say, well, it wasn't amazing. I did actually think the statement that Crows put out the next day was a step in the right direction compared to how they've responded to these incidents before. But again, once again, it's taking multiple cracks at it. But I think by the time we get to the weekend, it felt like everyone wasn't a consensus on the issue is that we shouldn't boo Isaac Quayner because of the incident that took place last year and that booing someone when they're going for a set shot or getting annoyed because of a free kick or something like that are very different parts of the fan spectrum.
They're very different, in my opinion. Like if someone's going for a set shot and you're trying to put them off or whatever, that's very different to booing someone for being quote unquote a dobak because they got called a homophobic slur. Like that's just that's very clear. And I felt like everyone got there.
It's a party danger field. Who then for no reason whatsoever comes out and makes a statement because he's not the head of the players association. He's not even in the players association anymore. Why is he making that statement at all?

And it's like, what are you talking about? And then Kate McCarthy came in with a great response. I thought really good stuff from Kate and then danger. Kind of like, yeah, Kate's absolutely right.
Well, danger. You've wasted time. I have to say this again, you should have fucking been better in your initial statement, you idiot. I think he said in response to Kate, your fair call Kate context is important or something like that, which is in itself a terrible response.
And yeah, you have to expect better from someone who was the president of the Pleysiciation for seven years as well. Like it's just a dumb fucking point of view. It's an old man point of view from an old man, I guess, but like, what do we do? I think danger and I are the same age, right?
And I'm sorry, he's so media trained as well. Yeah. When he finally finally, fucking finally retires from footy, he'll be up everyone up in your face in the media. He'll be in everything.
Like, how do you, it's crazy. Another thing with Patrick Dangerfield that makes it even crazy. And like people are kind of circling around this, I guess, I've included so far, but like Patrick Dangerfield debuted in 2008. Adam Goode retired in 2015.
He was playing when that happened the entire time it happened. Yeah. How? It wasn't that long ago.
How? Also Adelaide now have someone that has been found guilty of using racial slurs. Another person who's been found guilty of throwing around homophobia and they lost in straight sets last year. Do you think they might still have a culture problem?
I'm thinking maybe yes. Also, also the timeline of the presidency of the Pleysiciation would be such that Dangerfield probably replaced the person in charge during the good stuff. So wouldn't part of Dangerfield's thinking have been like, fuck, I better make sure nothing like that happens again. I think it's, I think it's a disgrace.
It's even, it's even like, even to get it like the social conscience side of things. It's someone that he was on the board of who's copying this in Quayner. Like Quayner is the guy copying this. And so it's, it's just such a, such a baffling approach that he's taken.
And I will just say, as a Geelong member and a Geelong supporter, I'm really disappointed in him. I hold him and he's the thing. I do hold danger to a higher standard than let's say, like a, like a Bailey Smith, right? Or even let's go even like further down the pecking order, just some like a, like a J-Pulking horn.
Well, that's your game. That's your club captain. That's the captain. That's the captain for your club and for its yes.
Right, I'll let him. Yeah. I am hot. It's pretty shit.
Yeah. Well, that brings us to the conclusion of the fuck head zone, where hopefully we don't have to put more people in that. Take it out. Just to turn things around and to really lift the spirits of today's episode, it's time for What's Good's Foodie.
Ah. I'll be good. I'll be good. I'll be good.
I'll be good. I'll be good. I will say my What's Good's Foodie couldn't be seen as a negative. But I actually...
What are you doing? Um, so another thing we haven't spoken about that just happened, speaking of all the players being fuck heads, Christian Patraka went absolutely off at Lombard. Who has been one of the goal course best new recruits? Like he's been so good this year.
And yeah, we've got caught on camera. At first, people focused on Lombard telling him to very obviously fuck off. It was a... He's telling someone to...
