2026 Vuelta - Tom Schuler And Mitch Teich

This week, former professional cyclist Tom Schuler and NPR’s Mitch Teich join us to preview the upcoming Vuelta a España! We kick things off with a deep dive into the state of American cycling, discussing the financial hurdles of hosting a three-week race in the U.S. and hearing about the record-breaking success of the Tour of America’s Dairyland. The conversation shifts to the dominance of Tadej Pogačar, as we debate his quest to tick the Vuelta off his list and whether he is the greatest cyclist of all time in a modern, hyper-competitive era. Along the way, Tom shares a classic story about meeting Eddy Merckx in 1974, we break down the brutal "Queen Stage" with over 5,000 meters of vertical gain, and we look at the potential internal team drama at UAE Team Emirates. We also chat about the twilight careers of veterans like Primož Roglič and Enrique Moss, our picks for the podium and much, much more! Enjoy!
